As Senior Scientist - in process development team you will be responsible for the successful evaluation, development, and optimization l cryopreservation processes of both autologous and allogeneic cellular therapies. You will work in our new Belgium facilities (Villers-Le-Bouillet) interacting with multiple teams including Process Development, MS&T, Analytical Development, Manufacturing, QA/QC, Regulatory, Business, etc.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to)
- Design, execute and analyze key experimental studies on cryopreservation processes for internal and clients’ projects,
- Provide scientific background and feedback on generated data,
- Ensure accurate internal & external data reporting including protocols, technical and scientific reports,
- Acquire and maintain scientific knowledge associated with Cell and Genes therapies Cryo-processes,
- Generate scientific proposals to resolve key technical hurdles associated with his/her studies,
- Be up to date with scientific literature and maintain knowledge concerning relevant new research and new technologies within Cell Matters’ scientific field,
- Assess and identify cryopreservation Critical Process Parameters (CPPs),
- Establish analytical approaches to employ during formulation screening, including but not limited to cell health, membrane integrity assays, molecular mechanism indicator assays, cell-specific functional assays, etc.,
- Ensure Development, Maintenance (incl. training) and communication of Cryoport expertise,
- Lead or assist in presenting information at internal or external meetings,
- Assist in client interactions to understand their objectives and meet their needs,
- Interact and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary departments.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- PhD in Biology, Bioengineering, or Biomedical Engineering or related disciplines with min 1 year experience in Cell Therapy Industry,
- Strong experience in data management,
- Demonstrated exceptional scientific research skills with attention to detail,
- Experience in cryopreservation,
- Strong understanding of cell biology,
- Experience with cell culture, cell purification and cellular assays (viability, functionality,),
- Experience with Quality Management System standards and systems,
- Sound knowledge in DOE,
- Precise communication of results to stakeholders (written and oral presentation skills),
- Works effectively in cross functional teams and projects,
- Demonstrated strong experience in scientific writing.
