For the Digital Lounge division at our headquarters in Brussels (near the train station and subway, see the map here) we’re looking for a Data Scientist (M/F/x).
Fluxys is boosting its digital transformation and one of its initiatives involves setting up a Digital Lounge. Taking an innovative approach, the Digital Lounge will bring digital products to market in the form of minimum viable products. Examples include using artificial intelligence to improve our operations, developing an app to enhance the interface with our customers and deploying virtual reality to train our teams. To this end, the Digital Lounge will bring together people from different backgrounds who we will guide and support via agile and design thinking methodologies. These colleagues will then promote the successful products outside the Digital Lounge.

**Your**
**responsibilities**:
- You will be part of a team that quickly brings minimum viable products to market or to our organisation. Under the leadership of the product owner, the team will be responsible for focusing on the problem and developing a relevant solution
- Agile and design thinking methodologies will be used to quickly pivot from an initial concept to a minimum viable product
- You will be responsible for developing all data-related aspects for one or more minimum viable products in parallel
- You will work closely with Fluxys' Smart Data Factory (Data Lake) team to source the data, using the data in the Smart Data Factory or ensuring that the additional data sources are integrated into the Smart Data Factory
- You will therefore work with the Smart Data Factory team to further develop this initiative (governance model, access rights, technology, data mining and structuring)
- You will be responsible for analysing the data needs of a minimum viable product, translate this into specifications and implement the data mining needs, from mock-up to test case through to industrialisation

To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A master's degree in ICT and/or equivalent experience
- Experience in business intelligence/data analytics
- Experience with BI & data analytics concepts and tools such as:
- BI data modelling techniques (star schemas, snowflake schemas, etc.)
- Modern data warehouse and data lake concepts and tools such as Azure Data Lake, Azure Analysis Services, etc.
- Knowledge of the following concepts and tools:
- Business intelligence tools Qlik Sense and Power BI
- Azure environment general concepts
- The necessary adaptability to work in ever-changing project groups
- An analytical, methodical and careful way of working
- Good communication skills and a real sense of team spirit
- Good knowledge of Dutch, French and English
