Business Intelligence Specialist

You will be part of one of the BI & Analytics agile teams within the new centralized Data organization, supporting the different business units and strategic programs within Proximus.
As Data Analyst you’ll strengthen the team and use advanced analytical methods and models to detect new customer experience insights and make recommendations for improvements. You’ll be confronted with many challenges for which you’ll work closely together with CX, BI and big data experts to jointly reach tangible results.
**Working on data analytics projects within Proximus means**:
- Understand the business needs and challenges
- Translate business analytical needs into data requirements
- Explore, examine and combine data from multiple domains
- Look at the data from many angles, understand it, and transform it into meaningful insights
- Make recommendations based on the insights you discover and support strategic decision making
- Ensure that relevant data is captured structurally to facilitate further analysis and reporting
- Suggest new types of data analyses and visualisation methods, look for inspiration in other sectors and companies, and contribute to the overall knowledge building of data within the company.
Profile
Education/experience
- Bachelor/Master/PhD in a quantitative field (AI, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, etc.)
- 2+ years of experience in a relevant domain
Technical skills
- You have a strong knowledge of statistical methods
- You are familiar with both traditional data (DWH) & big data environments (Hadoop, Spark, Cloud). Experience with Cloudera is a plus.
- You have a thorough knowledge of SQL and visualization tools such as Power BI

- You consult with both “business” & “technical” stakeholders and easily bridge between both
- You love researching, analysing, and quantifying things, and spontaneously look for patterns
- You like precision but you are not afraid to make an educated guess.
- You are good at visualizing data and create impactful presentations that make the data speak
- You have strong communication skills towards both top management and operational levels
- You have a critical mind, continuously search for creative solutions, and work methodically
- You are a team player and collaborate autonomously with stakeholders and experts
- You are curious, eager to learn and result driven.
Languages
- You are fluent in English, and speak Dutch and/or French
