BASF is sterk vertegenwoordigd in België. Vijf volwaardige BASF-dochterondernemingen op zes locaties met in totaal meer dan 4.000 medewerkers zijn actief op het vlak van productie, verkoop, onderzoek en ondersteunende diensten.

**Functie**:
Als Senior Data Scientist heb je onder andere de volgende verantwoordelijkheden:

- Je beheert complexe en uitdagende projecten in een diverse, cross-functionele en multiculturele omgeving.
- Je ondersteunt eindklanten in operations en services door data-gedreven inzichten te identificeren met behulp van statistische, algoritmische, mining en visualisatietechnieken.
- Je deelt en bespreekt inzichten met een verscheidenheid aan project stakeholders.
- Je inspireert het team over nieuwe technologische trends, in het domein van data analytics en machine learning, die een grote potentiële impact hebben voor BASF Antwerpen.
- Je werkt mee aan de planning van de ontwikkeling van data analytische oplossingen vanaf het eerste ontwerp gedachte tot de uitvoering, prototyping en testen.
- Je verzorgt een scope out en / of break down van probleemstellingen en hypothesen voor de analyse van business problemen.
- Je integreert en prepareert grote en gevarieerde datasets en modelleert complexe bedrijfsproblemen op basis van geavanceerde statistische modellering, datamining en machine learning methoden om data-analyse te vergemakkelijken.
- Je ontwerpt en evalueert experimenten om data-aannames te testen.

**Profiel**:

- Je behaalde een master of doctoraat in engineering, fysica of chemie.
- Je hebt inzicht in het bedrijfsleven: analyse van bedrijfsvereisten, kennis van het bedrijfsdomein, inzicht in bedrijfsprocessen, besluitvorming en systemen, effectieve communicatie met zakelijke en technische gebruikers.
- Je hebtiInzicht in Data: analyse en testen van data kwaliteit, in kaart brengen van data op basis van bedrijfsvereisten, verzamelen en onderzoeken van gegevens.
- Je kunt een complex concept samenvatten en uitleggen aan een grote verscheidenheid van stakeholders.
- Werken in teamverband is voor jou een tweede natuur.
- Je bent vertrouwd met verschillende data science / data mining technieken, zoals: supervised en non-supervised machine learning, statistische analyses, concepten, lineaire regressie, logistische regressie, decision trees, K-nearest neighbors, unsupervised machine learning, association rule mining, hierarchical & partitional clustering, dbscan, self-organizing maps, principal component analysis.
- Je vertoont een uitgebreide kennis van statistische en data-analytics technieken. Je hebt een goede kennis van Python en/of R. Kennis van JMP® is een plus.
- Het bezit van een Lean Six Sigma certificering is een plus.
