We are currently looking for a Business Accountant - Controller for our Continental European (CE) business based in our Vilvoorde office.

You will be responsible for the data quality and controlling of the real estate development activities and of the overhead accounts. Focus will be on ensuring accurate accounting in compliance with IFRS and in accordance with our internal analytical organisation.

Moreover, in your Financial Controller CE role, you will be driving the continuous improvement of the data quality within our CE business.

More concretely, you will get the opportunity to:
Central accountant development & overhead:

- Prepare the monthly and quarterly IFRS closings while ensuring the development and overhead related accounts are showing the appropriate balances
- Work closely with the development analysts to understand and record data for judgemental entries
- Assist the analytical and reporting team with the preparation of the internal reporting packs towards the head office in Sydney
- Provide financial insights and data to local GAAP accountants to aid them in their work preparing local GAAP accounts
- Calculate the relevant intragroup recharges required and monitor the issuance of the invoices
- Assist in internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanation
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of the development and overhead accounting

Financial Controller CE:

- Monitor, assess and improve the analytical quality of statutory and IFRS financial data through the use of dashboards and reporting tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data anomalies, discrepancies and trends affecting accuracy of financial reporting.
- Implement and track corrective measures to enhance the accuracy and reliability of financial information..
- Safeguard and take ownership of and continuously improve financial reporting processes.
- Provide regular updates and reports on the status of data quality initiatives to relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct training sessions for finance teams to promote awareness and adherence to data quality best practices.

Do you recognize yourself?
- You have a Master’s degree in Finance or Economics or relevant working experience (3+ years) within the Finance-Accounting/Controlling domain.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Problem solving mindset and ability to deal with emerging business trends and issues.
- Basic knowledge of IFRS and a strong affinity with the real estate sector.
- Demonstrated learner mindset, continuously updating knowledge of financial regulations and industry best practices
- Ability to balance attention to detail with a holistic understanding of the bigger picture.
- You are fluent in English
- You have the ability to communicate and engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders
- You have an eye for detail and are deadline driven
- You are a true multitasker with adequate organisational skills
