Our Analytical Chemistry & Media Team is currently recruiting an Analytical Scientist - Analytical Chemistry & Media to be based out of our Leuven Chemistry Lab to drive analytical support for the filtration development in multiple business units.
Job Purpose:
As the Analytical Scientist - Analytical Chemistry & Media, you will collaborate with a team of scientists and engineers to define testing requirements, develop analytical methods, perform testing, process, and interpret data, and present results to expedite product and technology development.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will collaborate with scientists and engineers to plan experimental design to solve challenging analytical problems in filtration product development.- You will execute analytical testing, analyze and interpret data, and author clearly articulated reports and data presentations.- You will develop novel analytical methods using a wide range of analytical instrumentation in collaboration with researchers and product development.- You will participate in problem-solving and provide recommendations to the Project Team based on analytical data.- You will also provide guidance and directions to the Chemists' Team to move projects forward.- You will perform other assignments (standardized testing, EHS initiatives etc.) as needed.
Basic Profile:
- Technical Graduates/Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or other related fields.- 2+ years of relevant industrial experience.- Experience in an analytical chemistry lab and multiple analytical techniques.- 2+ years of hands-on experience with chromatography.- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.- Excellent organizational skills and communication skills and ability to embrace changes with mínimal directions.- Fluent in English. Other languages a plus.
Preferred Profile:
- Advanced degree with a focus in analytical or bioanalytical chemistry or related fields.- 2+ years of hands-on experience in gas chromatography, liquid chromatography, and/or mass spectrometry.- 2+ years of hands-on experience in microscopy and SEM.- 2+ years of hands-on surface analysis.- Experience with biological systems.- General filtration knowledge/experience is a plus.- Familiarity with membrane technology and operating principles is a plus.
