EFPIA is looking to recruit a Manager in its Legal Affairs team with a focus on pharmaceutical legal policy and data protection matters. This is a critical role within EFPIA, and we are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual, well experienced in the life sciences legal spectrum, who can work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-moving work environment.

**Role and key responsibilities**:

- Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of issues related to pharmaceutical law and industry regulations, including self-regulations.
- Collaborate with other EFPIA teams to ensure EFPIA’s legal strategies are aligned with overall organisational objectives.
- Conduct legal analyses and support EFPIA’s advocacy efforts
- Coordinate and drive the work of the Data Governance Working Group and other workstreams and projects related to data privacy related matters such as anonymisation, international transfers of data, transfers of value etc.
- Data Protection Officer duties for EFPIA, including providing internal advice on GDPR compliance, advising, reviewing, and implementing organisational measures to optimise EFPIA’s data privacy processes, acting as contact point for data supervisory authorities.
- Timely reporting, analysis, and assessment of developments in relevant legal and regulatory frameworks.
- Support legal affairs team in key projects related to regulatory law and market access legal policies.
- Collaborate with other EFPIA teams such as science and regulatory team, market access, and government affairs to ensure EFPIA’s legal strategies are aligned with overall organizational objectives.
- Draft and review contracts, agreements, policies, and other legal documents.

**Job qualifications**:

- Master’s degree in law.
- At least five years of relevant professional experience in the pharmaceutical or health care industry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English - working knowledge of other EU languages is an asset.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Adaptable and flexible mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Good knowledge of the European institutional environment and institutional interactions.
- Good judgment, leadership, and management capability.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Specific knowledge of pharmaceutical law and industry regulations in Europe, with an understanding of regulatory law related to the medicinal product lifecycle, including R&D incentives, clinical trials, marketing authorisations, pricing and reimbursement, supply chain, digital health etc.
- Strong knowledge of EU data protection and data privacy regulatory law and policy, e.g., GDPR, Data Governance Act, Data Protection Law Enforcement Directive, Data Act, AI Act, EHDS etc.
- Solid understanding of the functioning of EU data governance processes and roles of national data protection authorities, the EDPB, the EDPS etc.
- Familiarity with internal company data protection and data privacy policies and processes, ideally within the pharmaceutical industry
