As a Local Business Controller, you act as a business partner to the Belux Electrification (EL) Business manager to plan and ensure profit and business growth through market demand creation. You support the Local Electrification Belux Lead Controller (ELSP/ELSB) and Management team with transparent information on the full scope of Marketing and Sales. You control the financials of 2 local divisions (EL Smart Power and EL Smart Building) and you direct and control financial report’s quality and accuracy, ensuring that the practices of the business comply with group/company policies, internal controls, external regulations, and generally accepted accounting principles for the business controlling activities in the area of responsibility. You drive process improvements in areas like back-office, customer service, logistics, service, pricing, finance, controlling and accounting. You support business in quotations and calculations, risk reviews and provide insights by for example driving KPIs through relevant dashboards and business intelligence.
**Your responsibilities**:
- Strategy planning and implementation - Supports the local implementation of the Global Business and local division strategies and ensures profitable growth in local markets, with focus on sales and price management control. Controller builds scenarios, recommends actions, and provide insight to the management.
- Business performance - Pays special attention on growth, sales efficiency, go-to-market, cost to serve, margins alignment with targets and net price realization by product, customer and channel required.
- Financial reporting - In coordination with the EL Lead Controller, establishes and oversees processes and tools necessary to obtain transparent and reliable financial data and business information. Performance analysis, review & proposal for actions, process improvements to management supporting future business-performance improvement.
- Commercial excellence - Ensures and supports accuracy and effectiveness of commercial processes including market price positioning, quotation, sales price management, and credit and collection management. Identify, account for and manage potential risks in the EL business relating to frame contract agreements and quotation processes.
- Standards and governance, internal controls & compliance - Implements and ensures compliance with global and local standards, policies and processes related to project execution, and share functional best practices across the ABB organization.
- Operational excellence and quality - Drives cross functional collaboration and process improvement such as with shared service centers, support (customer) services, etc.
- Risk management - Assesses business risk exposure and defines risk mitigation strategies to reduce impact on business performance in own area of responsibility.
**Your background**:
- You have completed a Bachelor or Master in the field of business economics.
- You have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience as a (business) controller, preferably within a larger company or corporate organization.
- Strong in accounting or have the ability to pick up accounting topics rapidly.
- Understanding and feeling for the business.
- Responsive and accurate working attitude.
- Perform well under stress and ability to manage several stakeholders at the same time.
- You have good analytical skills and are able to prioritize according to stakeholder needs.
- You have a critical and proactive attitude and strong communication skills.
- Ambitious and have the will to develop further as a controller.
- You have good knowledge of SAP and very strong knowledge of Power BI.
- Good command of written and spoken Dutch, English (and French).
