General Ledger Accountant

**Join our Finance and Accounting team as a Senior GL Accountant at our Leuven office**, where you'll play a crucial role in financial analysis and reporting for our EMEA region. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing month-end closures, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and working closely with the finance team to drive best practices.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Lead the month-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely group reporting.
- Streamline financial procedures through standardization and automation.
- Collaborate with EMEA finance teams to establish shared services and implement best practices.
- Manage local vs. IFRS reporting variances, prepare variance analysis, and ensure accurate accruals.
- Coordinate internal and external audit requests.
- Oversee the preparation and filing of statutory accounts, working directly with auditors and stakeholders to ensure compliance.
- Assist the Finance Manager with transfer pricing documentation and other statutory or tax-related matters.
- Provide ad hoc financial analyses and support business controlling teams with balance sheet insights.
**Qualifications**:
**About You**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of accounting experience, with a strong background in tax and audit processes, preferably in an international environment.
- Solid knowledge of Belgian GAAP and IFRS reporting standards.
- Proficient in ERP systems.
- Strong analytical skills combined with hands-on financial experience.
- Organized, flexible, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Able to maintain a broad perspective while ensuring accuracy in details.
- Fluent in English, with Dutch proficiency as an advantage.
