**At a glance**

As a skilled mechanic, the Head Technician will lead our technical team in maintaining our boat fleet to the highest standards. You'll oversee workshop operations, manage inventory, and ensure workplace safety, contributing to the smooth operation of our base.

**What you will be doing**
- Lead corrective and preventive maintenance on boat engines, overseeing mechanical, electrical, carpentry, and laminating tasks.
- Conduct regular inspections of boats to ensure optimal condition.
- Manage workshop operations and uphold workplace safety standards.
- Oversee inventory management of equipment, tools, and spare parts.
- Collaborate with the Base Manager in fleet management and planning.
- Assist in sourcing spare parts and resolving technical issues.
- Supervise boat operation instructions for customers and manage repair work during the offseason.

**What we are looking for**:
**Skills, experience, knowledge, qualifications, and training**
- Relevant studies in mechanics or diesel mechanics, or possess significant experience in the field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the maritime or nautical industry.
- In-depth knowledge of boats and proficiency in operating them.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships and manage a team.
- Proficiency in cost control principles and customer orientation.
- Strong organizational skills and professional appearance.
- Valid driver's license and driving routine.
- Fluent in English.
- Full eligibility to work in Belgium
- Available for working at weekends during the season (April - October)

**Advantagous**:

- Certificate from a marine college or equivalent (an advantage).
- A passion for boating and relevant experience.
- Other language skills as Dutch or German or French would be desirable.
- Fluency any of the following languages would be a bonus: Czech, Hungarian, Croatian, Serbian, Polish, Romanian, Bulgarian, Slovak, Greek, Lithuanian, Latvian, Estonian, Slovenian, Serbo-Croatian, Spanish or Portuguese.

**Salary**: €14,50 - €16,50 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
