Title and Summary

Associate Accountant (Rosetta, First Employment Contract)
- The jobholder will be part of the Controller’s group within Mastercard Europe’s Finance division. This position will report to the Manager Controller CEE
- The Rebates & Incentives (R&I) Team has to ensure timely and correct accounting treatment of all customer business agreements, in line with current applicable Mastercard policies.
- The role oversees the timely and correct accounting treatment, as well as relevant controls, of all customer business agreements, in line with current applicable Mastercard policies as well as US GAAP.
- The jobholder will support pricing implementation projects liaising with Billing Services team and business owners.
- The jobholder will work closely together with different departments within the organization (FP&A, BDF, Legal, Account Managers, and Regional Finance).

Your Responsibilities

Rebates and Incentives (R&I)
- Participate in the R&I process and support the Manager to ensure timely and accurate R&I accounting treatment.
- Participate in the contract drafting process to ensure that contract verbiage enables proper accounting treatment in line with the applicable Mastercard policies.
- Review Accounting Summaries in accordance to Mastercard's applicable policies for every customer business agreement and ensure that the accounting treatment of signed business agreements is applied accordingly. Participate in the review of full monthly incentive reconciliation for Europe.
- Participate in monthly regional calls on incentive accruals, forecast and R&O.
- Support the manager to ensure SOX compliance and process documentation for all Key Control Activities.

Statutory and US GAAP accounting
- Under the supervision of the manager prepare the conversion of accounts from US GAAP to local GAAP through the preparation of the financial statements and ensure statutory compliance of local branches/entities.
- Support the manager to ensure internal & external audit compliance

Pricing and Billing
- Responds to internal and external billing questions and addresses ad hoc requests for billing analysis
- Performs the calculations for manual billing of Pan-European fees and adjustments
- Sets up automatic rebates and customer specific rates in billing system
- Liaises with Billing Services team and business owners in pricing implementation projects, including review and approval of requirements and test results
- Update pricing documentation
- Review the setup of new customers or revisions in setup of existing customers in the billing system

Your Experience
- University degree in economics/business/finance or similar
- Must be eligible for Rosetta position
- IT literate with advanced knowledge of Excel
- Problem solver and a strong team player with an eye for detail and focus on accuracy
- Fluent in English (both spoken and written) - other European languages are an asset
- You work well under pressure, are able to manage multiple deadlines as well as naturally curious and a fast learner
