The EU Export Control Manager shall assist in the development of the EU Export Control Shared Service Center by providing assistance to the EU Export Control Manager in developing EU Policies and Procedures/ EU Trainings/ EU Factory Audits/End-User Checks/Etc. The EU Export Control Supervisor should be the first point of contact for all business unites and support communication to EU Management and JPN Export Control Team. The EU Export Control Supervisor shall be trained to take over the role of the EU Export Control Manger is short-medium term.
**Responsibilities**:
**Policie & Procedures - Training - Audits**
- Assist in the developing, maintaining and updating of EU export control compliance **policies and procedures** for compliance with and implementation of local, national, European as well as International (Re-) export control regulations;
- **Monitor legislative and regulatory changes**, summarize and prepare action plans for the EU Export Control Manager
- Analyze contractual and other documents to ensure compliance with export control requirements;
- Assist in the development of EU Export Control **Training Programs** and give EU Export Control Trainings at Komatsu Factories in Europe;
- Assist in **Export Control Audits** at Komatsu Factories in Europe
**Technical assistance**
- Conduct **Export Control and End User checks** for (international) shipments to ensure compliance with export control regulations and Komatsu’s Reputational Risk;
- Make **export licensing** determinations and obtain export licenses.
- Assist to the **internal reporting** on Export Control Activities
**Communication & continuation**
- Coordination of **communication with domestic/foreign governments**:
- **First point of business contact** for advice, resources, education and coordination of export compliance.
- Support in **communication on Export Control matters to European and Japanese management**:
- Serve as back-up for the European Export Control manager and** desire to take over such European management role** in medium-short time (succession planning)
**Profile**:
- 3-5 years of experience in one of the following domains: legal - audit - compliance - international trade
- Ability to read technical legislative documents
- Strong interest in international relations/politics, customs&trade, economics, international law
- Strong written and verbal communication skills: ability to effectively communicate and explain in an understandable way complex (legal) matters to non-specialists & non-technical audiences
- Personality: Possess a high level of detailed analysis, ability to work independently, assertive
- Language skills: Fluent in Dutch and English (verbal and writing), German being an advantage
- Required educational background: law school, economics, trade, international politics
- Willingness to travel to Komatsu Factories in Europe (and exceptionally to Japan)
