**Laboratory Scientist - Materials Chemistry**

**Scope**

My client, a global leader in specialty chemicals is looking for a talented and motivated **Lab Scientist** to join their team just north of **Ghent.**

In this exciting role, you will be joining a small team responsible for conducting research and development in their Advanced Materials Lab, contributing to innovative projects and making a real impact.

**Responsibilities**

You will be involved in a variety of tasks, including:

- Analysis of raw materials and product samples (oils, solvents etc.) using **GCMS, DSC, TGA and optical microscopes**.
- Development of new products using lab and pilot reactors.
- Maintenance of analytical equipment
- Development of methods for quantitative analysis.
- Writing reports
- Interacting with suppliers and handling orders.

**About You**
- You have a **Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field**. (PhDs not required)
- You possess **industrial lab experience with GCMS. **DSC and TGA is also beneficial.
- You are **fluent in Dutch and English**.
- You have a **safety-conscious mindset** and can handle hazardous materials responsibly.
- You are a **team player** with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- You are **motivated, eager to learn, and possess a problem-solving attitude**.
- You have the **maturity to combine a critical eye with an accurate approach to work**.
