**Actuary**
One of our clients in the insurance sector has just opened an actuarial position in their Brussels office. They are looking for an experienced actuary who will join their dynamic and proactive team. If you want to be part of a fast-growing company and aren’t afraid to share your ideas, then this position is made for you.
**Your tasks as an actuary**
- Undertake the actuarial aspects of the Solvency II quarterly and annual reporting, Belgian GAAP reporting and other local reporting as required
- Review and validation of data used in actuarial modelling and reporting
- Undertake and develop processes to calculate the capital requirements under Solvency II Standard Formula
- Undertake the reserving requirements on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis across the book of business, on best estimate and Belgian GAAP bases as required
- Support the Actuarial Manager in the determining of assumptions and the building of reserving processes
- Undertake work to support analysis of surplus, premiums earning patterns and other actuarial tasks
- Undertake ad-hoc actuarial investigations and reports to support projects as required
- Undertake capital projections to support the work of Business planning and ORSA
- Undertake actuarial work for the local Lloyd’s branches in Europe
- Follow actuarial best practice standards related to assumption setting, documentation, peer review and remaining up to date on regulatory developments
- Lead junior members of the team on the projects and pieces of work involved in, providing guidance and technical assistance
- Support key stakeholder engagement through communication of actuarial methodologies and results as required, taking the lead with dedicated stakeholders and maintaining strong relationships.
**Your profile as an actuary**
- You have a university degree in actuarial science
- You are a qualified actuary and member of an official Actuarial professional body
- You know the actuarial techniques involved in non-life insurance
- You have experience in delivering complex work output, including supervising work, and communicating this to an audience
- You have experience in the non-life insurance field, preferably across a range of work areas (in particular reserving, capital modelling).
- You can use many IT tools including Excel, Access, Word and databases. Res-Q experience is a distinct advantage. You are also knowledgeable in programmatic approaches, including the use of VBA, R. SQL is a strong plus.
