As a General Accountant, you are jointly responsible for closing the accounting and consolidation of 10 companies in different countries. You are part of an accounting team of 6 F&A employees and the right hand of the Chief Accountant to whom you report.
- You are jointly responsible for the monthly and annual closing of the statutory accounts and reporting.
- You ensure the quality of the accounting and statutory reporting and control the entries performed by colleagues, responsible for purchase and sales invoices, banks and miscellaneous entries.
- You provide financial and tax advice and assist in the tax audits and liaise with the tax administration and external tax advisors.
- You check VAT returns, IC and intrastat returns and take care of the preparation of corporate tax returns, monthly and annual closings, income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statement.
- Based on the monthly figures, you formulate comments, suggestions and improvements in collaboration with the Chief Accountant the Finance Controller and the CFO.
- Monitor the accuracy and integrity of accounting and financial data and processes as part of monthly and year-end closings.
- You will support the Chief Account in preparing meetings with the auditors and take an active role during the statutory audit with the external auditor.
- In collaboration with the Chief Accountant, the Finance Controller and the CFO, you prepare insightful and compelling periodic and ad hoc financial reports and presentations, based on which management and other stakeholders gain insights into both the state of affairs and future expectations.
- You are jointly responsible for improving and controlling the accounting processes and operation of the accounting department.
- You work independently on assigned projects such as start-up accounting of new subsidiaries, writing procedures or IT developments for Finance.

**Profile**:
Our ideal colleague fits the description below:

- You have a Bachelor or Master degree in Accountancy (& Taxation) and can present at least 7 years of relevant experience as Senior Accountant in a fast growing and international environment or as file manager in an external accountancy firm.
- Besides Dutch you speak English fluently, knowledge of French and German are a plus.
- Excel holds no secrets for you and you can work with it at a high professional level.
- Good analytical insight and logical thinking skills characterize you.
- Knowledge of ERP packages (Odoo) is an asset.
- Knowledge of consolidation is a plus.
- Knowledge of PowerBI and Bright Analytics is a plus.
- You know how to keep a cool head at busy times, but you also know how to handle changes positively.
- You are a positive team player, who can also work independently.
- You have a proactive work attitude, working in a result-oriented manner, but with an eye for detail and deadlines.
