We are looking for a temporary replacement as Communication Officer

**In a nutshell**
- Office is located in Etterbeek, Homeoffice possible
- Main tasks : Communication, Administration and Office
- Temporary contract

**Job description**

The Communication Officer has to make independent decisions on a daily basis, addressing the best way to handle specific tasks. As Communication Officer, you will perform duties and responsibilities such as providing administrative and event support to ensure efficient operation of the office. You will support managers through a variety of tasks related to organization and communication.

**You will be responsible for**:

- the daily administration of the association,
- creating and publishing content on social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn), to grow an audience, build awareness, and ultimately boost exchange and membership,
- organising online conferences for our members,
- organising and participating to our planned international trips abroad for 2023 (Mannheim in May 2023, West Coast of Canada in September 2023),
- organising Board meetings and delivering the minutes, in Brussels or abroad
- taking part in our European projects meetings, online and on site (Czech Republic in May 2023)
- attending workshops and conferences in Brussels for the association
- maintaining and nurturing the association’s network and contacts
- answering our members’ requests by mail and phone
- following up with Board members for any upcoming request for the daily management of the association

**Competencies**

- Knowledge of office management systems and procedures

**Languages**

English is the working language. French would be useful, as well as German. Any other language is also appreciated.

**Start date**

A start date between 1st February and 1st March 2023 would be ideal. A start in January could also be an option.

ELCA is the European Landscape Contractors Association. Established in 1963, we represent today 23 European countries as well as 4 associated countries (Canada, United Kingdom, Japan, Turkey).

We maintain a strong collaboration with more than 175 European landscape companies throughout Europe.

ELCA is the platform that opens up the conversation between landscape companies throughout Europe and advocates for a better policy-making to European institutions on topics such as biodiversity, circular economy, resource efficiency, sustainability, health and well-being.

Our goals and activities are multifaceted:

- We organise **roundtables on the challenges and evolution** of our work ;
- We organise twice or three times a year **professional excursions** to discuss with colleagues from all around Europe and to discover inventive private and public landscape projects abroad (this year, we visited the Netherlands and Turkey) ;
- We publish **documentation and studies** on the state of and the evolution of our field in Europe ;
- We take part in international **business** **fairs **to meet colleagues from all over the continent and discover new technologies and techniques for our market, such as GaLaBau in Germany, Paysalia in France or Iberflora in Spain ;
- We organise **Exchange programmes** for business leaders, employees or trainees to learn on site about other techniques, challenges and business environments.
- We deliver the **ELCA** **Green Award and the ELCA Trend Award** to enhance the visibility and innovation of trend-setting companies ;
- Last but not least, we are part of several **European projects**.
