We are currently in search of a **Junior Policy Communications Specialist** to join our team in Brussels.

Main Responsibilities
**Responsibilities;**
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of EU policy, particularly in the areas of immigration, defence, and public services
- Align research and briefing work with corporate and business objectives
- Translate intricate policy information into clear, succinct, and easily understandable messaging.
- Develop stakeholder maps, stakeholder engagement plans, and event attendance calendars.
- Work closely with the Head of Communications and External Affairs to develop and implement communication strategies.
- Write and edit policy briefs, reports, and other policy communication materials.
- Monitor and analyse policy developments and trends, and provide regular briefings to senior management.
- Represent the organisation at meetings, conferences, and other events.
- Ensure all communications are accurate, timely, and aligned with the organisation's values and objectives.
- Ad hoc administrative and communications work
**Qualifications**:
- A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Political Science, International Relations, EU affairs or a related field.
- A minimum of two years of experience in policy communication, preferably in a EU institution or in the field of immigration, defence, or public services.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in French, German, or Dutch is an advantage
- Strong understanding of EU institutions and decision-making processes.
- Knowledge of Member State policy landscape is a plus (Germany, Italy, France, Belgium)
- Knowledge of immigration policies across Europe and/or defence is beneficial.
- Excellent research, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to interact with senior leadership.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
- Familiarity with more general communications.
