- The Data Solutions division is the commercial data business of Moody’s Analytics, bringing together a vast catalogue of data to help business decision-makers assess risks and opportunities. We are best known for Orbis, the world’s most comprehensive database of public and private companies. We are also the definitive source of ratings-related data for companies and securities that have been rated by Moody’s Investors Service. We strive to deliver convenience and insight to our customers by eliminating the hassle of sourcing, preparing and accessing data, adding value when decisions need to be made. Any analytical activity depends on reliable and accessible data, and we are proud to be a mission-critical information resource for decision-makers around the world.
Role/Responsibilities
- As a member of the Publication Operations team, the Data Specialist will be working on support tasks and recurring weekly tasks related to the treatment of our Directors / Managers database.
This is the best start in understanding the complexity, architecture, and the processes of a database that consists of over 900 million records.
**What you will learn with us**:
- To perform second line of support (specialist) tasks, meaning you’ll assist the first line of support (generalists) to solve data-related issues.
- All the intricate details and interactions of the different elements and procedures within our database.
- All the data-related treatments and data-mining rules that transform our raw data into the final product displayed to the clients.
- To identify and solve data or process-related issues when they occur.
- To ensure the highest data quality.You will be working with data analysts, software developers, first line of support employees, and sales.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor degree, ideally in Economics, Econometrics, Business Administration, or any Data / Information Technology-related field.
- Strong detail-orientation, balanced by the ability to understand the larger picture of a system.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- A first experience with SQL, Python and Excel.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to adapt the content of one’s speech to a varied range of audiences, as you’ll be working cross-functionally.
- Enjoys working as part of a team, as well as undertakes projects independently.
- Resilient, curious, has a life-long learner’s mentality.
- Strong verbal and writing skills in English.
