Resource Matters est une association à but non lucratif qui vise à mieux comprendre et contribuer à surmonter le contraste entre les richesses naturelles d’un pays et le manque de développement économique de sa population. Elle se focalise principalement sur les investissements industriels dans le secteur minier et électrique en République Démocratique du Congo.

Le poste à pourvoir s’étendra sur une période d’au moins trois mois jusqu'à un an.

**Tâches**
- Assister à la recherche de nouvelles transactions concernant le cobalt en vue de l’actualisation de la plateforme Cobalt Supply Chains.
- Traiter des données géographiques en utilisant QGIS et l’outil OnSSET (à apprendre pendant le stage) pour assister dans l’actualisation de la plateforme Congo Epela.
- Entrer des données dans le back-end de la plateforme Makuta pour l’actualiser.
- Assister le coordinateur de recherche dans la réalisation des notes d’analyse concernant les thèmes des plateformes en utilisant les informations disponibles.

Le/la stagiaire et travaillera en étroite collaboration avec le coordinateur de recherches de l’organisation.

**Qualifications**
- Être détenteur d’un diplôme dans les domaines d’économie, sciences politiques, développement, géographie ou tout autre domaine directement pertinent
- Avoir des connaissances d’Excel
- Avoir des connaissances de QGIS, ArcGIS ou un autre programme cartographique
- Forte capacité de traitement mais aussi d’analyse de données quantitatifs
- Forte capacité de compréhension et de communication en français et en anglais
- Capacité de fonctionner efficacement et de manière indépendante
- Bonne connaissance avec les logiciels informatiques standards dans le package Office

Resource Matters is a non-profit organization that aims to better understand and help overcome the contrast between a country's natural wealth and the lack of economic development of its people. It focuses mainly on industrial investments in the mining and hydroelectric sectors in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The position to be filled will extend over a period of at least three months up to one year.

**Tasks**
- Assist in the search for new cobalt transactions in view of updating the Cobalt Supply Chains platform.
- Process geographic data using QGIS and the OnSSET tool (to be learned during the internship) to assist in updating the Congo Epela platform.
- Enter data into the back-end of the Makuta platform to update it.
- Assist the research coordinator in the production of analytical notes concerning the themes of the platforms using the information available.

The intern will work closely with the organization's research coordinator.

**Qualifications**
- Hold a degree in the fields of economics, political science, development, geography or any other directly relevant field
- Have knowledge of Excel
- Have knowledge of QGIS, ArcGIS or another mapping program
- Strong capacity for processing but also for analyzing quantitative data
- Strong ability to understand and communicate in French and English
- Ability to function effectively and independently
- Good knowledge with standard computer software in the Office package
