**The company**:
Elia is the operator of the Belgian high-voltage transmission grid (380 kV to 30 kV) and is responsible for developing and maintaining the grid, providing users with access to it and controlling energy flows. The Elia group is a team of 2,000 professionals who have the task of ensuring the continuity of electricity supplies in Belgium.
As owner and operator of electricity transmission networks in Belgium and Germany Elia has an important role and mission in supporting and implementing Europe's energy and climate policy.
**Venture Investment & Partnerships Officer**:

**Function**:
Closely with the Head of M&A and Partnerships, as well as, Elia Group strategy, innovation, finance, legal, digital and business teams to:
- Promote the creation of a venture dealflow and investment portfolio in the digital sector
- Form and foster effective relationships with founders, investors, mentors, service providers, and other ecosystem partners to build a support network around our founders and to develop sourcing and due diligence relationships
- Scout and assist in the selection of key investment partners (VCs, funds, accelerators, transmission sector industry, other TSOs, etc)
- Foster the connection between the corporate functions and the external partners (accelerators, VCs, funds, entrepreneurs)
- Manage, accelerate and valorize a venture equity portfolio, managing investment agreements, delivering when necessary content and mentorship to founders and provide them with the network, tools, and education they need to succeed
- Report to management, including analytics, dashboarding, forecasting and management presentations
**Your Profile**:
- Master’s degree in engineering, finance, or economics.
- A minimum of 7-10 years of prior experience in the technology industry, consultancy firms or funds within roles relevant to this job description
- Digital, energy and transmission sector knowledge, product development, engineering, finance, M&A, or go-to-market experience are all pluses
- Your integrity, transparency and honesty are unimpeachable
- You have a strong team-oriented attitude
- Your English verbal and written communication skills are strong; German,, Nederlands and French are pluses
- Initiative and comfort working through cross functional teams and environments come naturally to you
- You have unlimited capacity for and enjoyment of networking with people from all walks of life
- Your brain buzzes with curiosity and a never ending desire to learn and improve yourself and our organization and processes
- You’re analytically oriented - you make decisions based on data
- You can sell - you combine credibility and chemistry to convince people to join you on your journey
- You have a deep understanding of, empathy for, and experience with, the zero-to-one entrepreneurial process
- have prior early-stage tech investing experience or venture scouting and acceleration, or as a plus
- you quite likely have been or wannabe a co-founder or early employee at a startup company or involved with a successful fundraise.
