Mackay Marine is currently seeking an experienced **Marine Electronics Technician, **who is proficient in English and with the skills and qualifications below for our location in **Antwerp, Belgium**.

**_ Marine Electronics Technician Job Overview:_**

Under limited supervision, Marine Electronics Technicians (aka ‘technician’ or MET) install, service, and repair electronic equipment on board commercial ships. METs test, adjust, and troubleshoot electronic components, PCBs, sub-assemblies, and antennas as well as load, update, and modify software. Marine Electronics Technicians use their knowledge of radio frequencies (RF), electronic theory and circuitry to address a variety of technical problems and make intelligent use of complex schematics, blueprints, and manuals to accurately achieve assignments. Upon completing the assignment, technicians compose a detailed service report.

**_Qualifications:_**
- A University degree or equivalent technical certifications.
- 3 years of experience as a MET or ET in commercial shipping.
- **_Must be proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English._**:

- Valid FCC General License with Radar Endorsement preferred
- GMDSS Radio Operator Maintainer License preferred
- Be physically fit. Work environment often involves carrying 9-14 kgs., climbing ladders/masts, and exposure to weather.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
