It is a unique and open innovation pilot and demonstration facility for process development, scale-up and custom manufacturing of biobased products and processes from lab to multi ton scale. A wide and flexible spectrum of modular unit operations combined with a team of highly trained and experienced engineers and bioprocess technicians facilitates the translation of biobased laboratory processes into viable industrial processes.
To date, Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant has successfully performed 500+ projects on a bilateral basis with 200+ companies from all over the world. It was/is also involved in more than 50 consortium-based public projects**.**

**Een uitzonderlijke en unieke job**:
- Als bio process technician in onze pilootfabriek, kies je voor een **uitzonderlijke** en **unieke job**. Je maakt deel uit van een team van bio process ingenieurs en technici, die samen werken aan de ontwikkeling van zeer **diverse** en **uiterst innovatieve projecten**. Ver weg van alle routine, ontdek je een ideale omgeving om **nieuwe inzichten en expertise te verwerven** **in verschillende domeinen** en dus om exponentieel te kunnen groeien, ‘on the job’. Samen met je collega’s optimaliseer en schaal je innovatieve biogebaseerde processen op (van laboratorium naar industriële schaal) die bijdragen aan een **duurzame bio-economie** en een **antwoord helpen bieden op de grote klimaatuitdagingen**.
- Concreet, bouw je als bio process technician **(pre)industriële proefopstellingen **op voor het opschalen van eenheidsoperaties (een filtratie-stap, een centrifugatie-stap ). In overleg met de procesingenieurs, **volg je nauwgezet de procesparameters op** van de aan jou toegewezen opschalingsprocessen (fermentatie, biokatalyse, opzuivering). Hiervoor neem je ook regelmatig stalen die je in het labo analyseert. Je bent in staat om de behaalde resultaten op een **kritische manier te evalueren** en zoekt, indien nodig, mee naar **oplossingen**. Je bent een ambassadeur voor het handhaven van orde en hygiëne in de procesomgeving.

**Wie ben jij?**:
- We zijn doorlopend op zoek naar voltijdse medewerkers (ploegensysteem: vroeg, dag, laat, nacht, geen weekends).
- Wij zijn op zoek naar een **gemotiveerde hands-on, no-nonsense technicus** die van aanpakken weet Je werkt **zelfstandig, planmatig** en **nauwgezet** en je hebt kennis van biotechnologische processen (fermentatie, biokatalyse...) en/of ervaring in de procesindustrie, chemie of voeding. In het ideale geval heb je al ervaring met biogebaseerde producten en processen. Je bent een **volbloed** **teamplayer** en drukt je vlot uit in het Nederlands en het Engels.
De kandida(a)te van onze dromen heeft een bachelor diploma chemie, biochemie, HBO5 chemie/biochemie of laborant op zak, in dit geval kan je zonder eerdere werkervaring solliciteren. Heb je echter wél ervaring in de procesindustrie, chemie of voeding dan kan een A2 diploma (secundair onderwijs) in een wetenschappelijke of technische richting ook zeker volstaan.
