**Je functie**:
A typical week for an editor encompasses a variety of tasks and responsibilities. This job requires:
- a high capability for prioritization and flexibility;
- the ability to understand rules and comply with them, whilst adhering to strict deadlines;
- the ability to juggle between moments of high concentration and hands-on operational activities;
- curiosity to learn as the set of processes and rules evolve constantly.
The **four main areas of activities** are the following:
1/ **Editing and proofreading** of technical documents in line with the Internal Regulations within strict time frames:
- Read the document to align its content and structure with the rules and within the set target dates
- Review and assess experts’ and members’ comments impacting the document’s content
- In case of incoherences, correct them and/or coordinate with drafting experts for clarification or validation
- Process documents to allow their conversion in required formats (XML, Word and PDF)
- Review and quality check of own documents in line with specific checklists
2/ **Navigating online platforms** and **researching/feeding data** into databases
- Verify specific elements of the documents against external and internal data
- Input and verify data connected to relevant life cycle stages of the documents
- In case of incoherences, correct them and/or coordinate with drafting experts for clarification or validation
3/ **Interacting with professionals** from various technical fields, diverse backgrounds, and all levels of seniority
- Seek advice and validation of texts from relevant experts
- Collaborate with colleagues in relation to technical content
- Coordinate with relevant internal and external parties and ensure time frames are respected
- Build and maintain effective relationships with standards’ drafters
- Liaise and communicate with translators
4/ Being actively involved in the **development of improvement schemes** to increase efficiency and effectiveness
- Share best practices amongst editors to ensure coherence in all processes
- Contribute to the update of the Quality Management System for the relevant documentation (procedures, user manuals, forms, etc.)
- Identify the needs and contribute to the definition of requirements for new technical developments
- Organize and provide relevant trainings within area of responsibility
Although homeworking is possible for this function, this position requires an intensive face to face training for the first 2 months. The training will involve pairing with fellow colleagues, which will be complemented by remote collaboration.
