We are looking for: a **Deputy Financial Controller **for our branch in Lommel.
The Deputy Financial Controller owns the financial accounting and reporting process for the Lommel site, providing strategic information and insights to the management team to support effective decision making & overseeing and monitoring an effective compliance and control environment. Partner with the FD & Plant Director, providing good information, insights and challenge enabling better decision making & the ability to run the site in the most efficient and cost-effective way.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Ensure the integrity of financial reporting by demonstrating diligence & independence & maintaining a strong control environment.
- Take ownership of product costings on site, investigating any deviations from standard and promoting corrective action
- Take ownership of site overheads with spend category owners, managing to budgets and adjusting expectations in line with volumes, investigating any deviations from target and promoting corrective action.
- Manage the timely and high-quality delivery of the period-end financial close process.
- Drive the implementation of global accounting policies and procedures, leveraging enabling technologies.
- Drive compliant and effective operation of taxation and treasury activities, notably cash management.
- Lead the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring appropriate and efficient processes and procedures and positively impacting working capital balances.
- Periodic forecasting and planning activities, including leading the annual budget process.
- Manage relationship with the auditors and ensure GAAP/ IFRS compliance.
- Coordinate internal and external financial reporting requirements to the Group, statutory authorities, and other key stakeholders.
- Motivate, coach and develop the team; build capability and succession plans.
- Support the Group’s ambition to deliver a best-in-class Finance function globally
- Work with the IPL Europe Finance team across all sites to deliver a high performing, consistent & insightful finance solution for the total European business which demonstrates the right behaviours.
- Play a leading role in the finance implementation of the new ERP system
**Knowledge, Skills and Experience**
- Relevant third level qualification in Accounting with experience in a similar commercial business rôle
- Ideally previous audit experience from one of the global firms
- Team leadership experience
- Strong character to ensure a robust internal control environment
- Business acumen to support commercial management
- High level of MS Excel proficiency and previous in depth knowledge of a global ERP system
- Very good English language skills
