IDS is a leading in-vitro diagnostic solution provider to the clinical laboratory market. We develop, manufacture and market innovative immunoassays and automated immunoanalyser technologies to provide improved diagnostic outcomes for patients.
The Liege site was founded as a spin off from the University of Liege in 1989 and now houses 75 employees spread across operations, R&D and administrative functions. It is centre of excellence for the production and development of IDS automated assays and ancillaries for use on the IDS range of analysers. Here, we produce around 170,000 assay kits per year and have five R&D teams working on development projects related to automated assays.
**Job Purpose**
In this role you will be responsible for carrying out all accounting tasks at our Liege site, ensuring the accurate and timely accounting of all finanical duties relating to the site. Working alongside the Finance Manager, you will work on key tasks to continually improve the departments performance.
**Principal Accountabilities**
- Creating and updating customers / suppliers in our ERP system
- Track and manage customer payment deadlines and follow up with customer reminders when required
- Accurately record customers and suppliers details
- Encode, verify and claim supplier invoices
- Manage all data and administration tasks in relation to the banks
- Encode a wide range of accounting entries, including invoices and expenses
- Perform various analysis related to the balance, suppliers, supplier payment deadlines, supplier turnover, monthly purchases etc in alignment with the finance manager
- File all tax returns required by law (including VAT) on a monthly basis, with correct accounting for corporation tax, payroll taxes and amortization
- Review availability of government grants and take action accordingly
- Manage enqueries from internal and external auditors on VAT/tax audits
- Responsible for auxiliary administrative tasks such as mail-sorting
**Skills, Knowledge and Experience**
**Qualifications**
- Bachelor degree in Accounting
**Skills & Knowledge**
- Detailed understating of Belgian accounting and taxations rules
- Analytical skills and creative problems solving capability
- Strong organisational skills
- Motivated to complete tasks in a timely manner and dedicated to meeting deadlines, in particualr during closing periods (month end / year end)
- Team player, confident and assertive
- Verbal and written skills in French and English (B1 minimum)
**Experience**
- 2 to 3 years experience in Accounting with relevant experience in controlling
- Detailed understating of Belgian accounting and taxations rules
- Knowledge of accountancy payment system (knowledge of ISABEL is a plus)
- Good knowledge of MS Office and accounting software
