The Digital Communications Officer has a vital role to play in supporting the organisation’s work, both in terms of delivering impact and building our profile, as well as working with peers to ensure that we have the funding to deliver our mission.
You will work within a team of digital communications professionals to help deliver digital communications for the whole organisation, telling our story to the right online audiences to drive action, ensuring we use digital tools to influence-decision making, deliver impact and cultivate long-term support.
Specifically, you will help develop engaging digital communications content via social media as well as website stories, features and news that communicate the power and value of our work in the European region.
The Digital Department sits within the External Affairs division, which is responsible for all external engagement, including our high value fundraising, events and engagement with the arts and cultural sectors. We have team members across all our major offices in Europe, Asia, and the US.
**Meet your Manager**
In this role you will be managed by Irene Lorenzo, our Digital Communications Lead. Irene joined ClientEarth earlier this year and is based in London. She oversees ClientEarth’s global social channels and website. Her focus is to optimise user journeys for key stakeholders on the website and to develop a storytelling approach for supporter engagement on social media. Prior to joining ClientEarth, she worked as Head of Digital Mobilisation and Marketing at a human rights charity, where she developed the digital campaigning and marketing functions.
**Main Duties**
- Work in collaboration with peers in the Communications Team to develop exceptional digital communications content in line with the wider communications strategy.
- Work with the Creative and Brand Team to ensure digital communications content is on brand and adapted for use in local markets.
- Work with peers to implement global digital communications campaigns, where possible ensuring that they can be tailored and used in multiple geographies.
- Help deliver compelling journeys across digital channels to encourage supporters to donate, become a regular donor or participate in future campaigns.
- Ensure that ClientEarth’s social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Threads & LinkedIn are up-to-date to engage and grow target audiences on respective channels.
- Maintain, update and develop ClientEarth's websites drafting copy, uploading and editing articles.
- Support Communications colleagues to respond quickly to breaking news and litigation updates.

**Role requirements**
- Experience of delivering digital communications content distribution programmes Previous experience in a similar financial accounting role, including experience of transaction posting and account reconciliation
- Experience of developing engaging content for use across a range of channels, including website and social
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of digital organic channels
- Fluent (CEFR level C2) in English (essential)
- Fluent (CEFR level C2) in German (desirable)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (essential)
