EPHA’s communication team collaborates closely with all colleagues involved in policy, networks & partnerships, membership, and organisational development, to ensure the highest possible impact of the activities across the organisation. Our communication strategy is both proactive and responsive to current policy developments, it builds communication and social media capacity across the team, and is dynamic to adapt to the policy environment.

To take our work to the next impact level, we are looking for a perfect fit for our comms team: a dynamic, proactive social media communicator that embraces digital influencing with boldness and creativity, while remaining rooted in evidence at all times.

Key Responsibilities
- Managing EPHA’s online presence, with a specific focus on targeting and engaging with EU policy and decision-makers in the field of public health;
- Managing EPHA’s social media presence:

- Managing and continuously updating the social media calendar;
- Creating effective and engaging content and campaigns daily, including clear, action-oriented messages and visuals (images, GIFs, short videos, etc.);
- Engaging the online community by responding to posts and developing discussions (in collaboration with Policy Managers);
- Monitoring and reporting social media performance;
- Testing new tools and software to constantly improve performance;
- Training and educating staff;
- Being proactive in taking EPHA’s social media strategy to the next level;
- Supporting EPHA’s media engagement:

- building and maintaining strong personal relationships with EU/Brussels’ journalists and media outlets;
- establishing relationships with national media outlets;
- supporting staff and members in media engagement;
- Developing dissemination materials in collaboration with policy colleagues, based on EPHA’s graphic templates and guidelines;
- Supporting (online) event organisation.
- Educated to the MSc or equivalent level in science communication, journalism, public relations, or marketing, with a proven track record in (public) health policy (or equivalent education in a health-related discipline, with a strong track record in communication);
- Strongly, demonstrably committed to the EPHA’s vision and values;
- Devoted to standing against misinformation and misrepresentation of science in social media;
- Knowledgeable of, or with a strong affinity for EU (public) health policy;
- Able to effectively communicate complex topics in creative ways to different audiences;
- Demonstrably experienced as a social media manager (for at least 2 years), with solid knowledge of managing social media accounts, including community building and engagement, performance reporting, and the use of various tools and software, including networks analysis;
- Fluent in English (native or an equivalent level) with additional languages as plus;
- With exceptional interpersonal and communication skills;
- Excellent in copywriting;
- Skilled in basic graphic design and experienced in working with creative agencies for more comprehensive work;
- Experienced in (online) event management: planning, logistics, and promotion;
- Pro-active, creative and curious, with flair in relationship building;
- Enthusiastic about, and respectful of working within a diverse community;
- Able and committed to fit in and contribute to a vibrant team culture ;
- Eligible and able to work in Belgium without requiring a work visa.

- Full-time position, based in Brussels, Belgium;
- 1-year contract with the possibility of extension (funding permitted);
- Salary within a range of 35.000 - 40.000 euros gross/annum plus benefits;
