**DE JOB**:
We zijn op zoek naar een “Business Data Scientist” voor de afdeling “Performance Data”. De data waarmee het team dagelijks werkt, hebben voornamelijk betrekking op de veiligheid, stiptheid en capaciteit van het spoorwegnet.
Als **Business Data Scientist** speel je een cruciale rol in het gebruik van data en ondersteun je het management bij beslissingen. Deze rol is sterk gelinkt aan onze 'business' en werkt nauw samen met onze operationele professionals, en vereist daarom multidisciplinaire kennis en competenties, naargelang de prioriteit.
Concreet heb je de volgende taken:
- Je bent de projectleider van je eigen projecten.
- Je bent verantwoordelijk voor de integratie van verschillende databases afkomstig uit verschillende activiteitendomeinen.
- Je onderzoekt de afwijking tussen de beschikbare informatie en de informatie die nodig is om te beantwoorden aan de behoeften van de gebruiker en de directie. Je bent actief betrokken bij de vlotte organisatie van informatiestromen en de governance van de overeenkomstige data.
- Je bouwt mee aan een stevige database om de activiteiten binnen het team inzake rapportering en het ontwerp van dashboards voor verschillende diensten binnen Infrabel te ondersteunen. Hiervoor verwerk en integreer je data afkomstig uit operationele systemen.
- Data omvormen naar informatie die beslissingsondersteuning mogelijk maakt. Informatie opleveren in een begrijpbare, gebruiksvriendelijke en geautomatiseerde vorm.
- Nieuwe concepten bedenken met beschikbare data om bestaande noden in te vullen en procesverbetering mogelijk te maken.
- Verwerken van Big Data en Realtime data in geavanceerde modellen om maximaal inzicht te verwerven.
- Uitvoeren van statistische analyses & data mining technieken op de data
- Verbanden tussen diverse factoren naar boven brengen en indien van toepassing voorspellen wat er kan/zal gebeuren
- Visualisatie informatie via analyses, rapporten & dashboards
Je rapporteert aan de Manager Performance Data. Jouw werkplaats bevindt zich vlak bij het station Brussel-Zuid.
**JOUW PROFIEL**:
Technische vaardigheden
- Je hebt een masterdiploma, bij voorkeur in een van de volgende domeinen: wiskunde, wetenschappen, informatica, fysica, industrieel ingenieur, burgelijk ingenieur.
- Je hebt idealiter een eerste werkervaring in een vergelijkbare job.
- Je hebt ervaring met programmeren in verschillende omgevingen (SAS /Python).
- Je hebt een zeer goede kennis van databases en analysetechnieken.
- Je hebt voldoende kennis van de tweede landstaal.
Gedragsvaardigheden
- Je bent sterk in probleemoplossend denken en creatieve oplossingen zoeken.
- Je kan zelfstandig informatie zoeken, verwerken en toepassen. Je kan vlot en op eigen initiatief nieuwe materie begrijpen.
- Je kan overtuigend presenteren en complexe materie begrijpbaar overbrengen.
- Je kan vergaderingen/workshops coördineren en vlot contacten leggen in jouw rol als project lead.
- Je denkt businessgericht en je hebt een grote interesse in reële data omtrent alle aspecten van het treinverkeer.
- Je voert graag grondige analyses uit en je neemt een kritische houding aan ten opzichte van de geleverde data.
- Je werkt op een gestructureerde en efficiënte manier.
- Je bent precies, proactief en nauwkeurig in jouw werk.
- Je hebt een sterk analytisch denkvermogen, en de informatie die je gebruikt, komt van verschillende bronnen en is uiteenlopend van aard.
- Je bent een echte teamspeler en je deelt zowel spontaan als op vraag je kennis, competenties en ideeën met collega’s.

Een van haar kernopdrachten is het organiseren en regelen van het spoorverkeer op het Belgische spoornet. Daarvoor wijst I-CBE de rijpaden toe aan de spoorwegondernemingen, organiseert en beheert deze directie het spoorverkeer in realtime en is ze verantwoordelijk voor de tarifering en facturering van de rijpaden en andere diensten die ze aan de spoorwegondernemingen ter beschikking stelt.
