We pump the peanut butter and mayonnaise into your jar, the filling into your cookie, and the oil into your car. We glue the soles of your shoes, the glass in your windows and pump the ink onto your bills. We spray varnish on your furniture, coating on your pills, the paint on your house and texture on your walls. We even sprayed the paint on the White House in Washington D.C. and stripes on the field at Wembley Stadium in London. Our European headquarter is located in Maasmechelen, Belgium. From this location some 170 highly skilled employees serve Graco’s external and internal customers throughout EMEA. We are currently looking for an Operations Accountant:
PURPOSE OF JOB

The Operations Accountant is responsible for:

- Analyzing and accounting for inventory and inventory transactions, cost of sales and related variances. He/she calculates labor rates, freight standard and ensures the accuracy of various cost fields in Oracle
- Preparation of the monthly operational management reports.
- Follow up on demo&loan inventory
- Overseeing the Cycle count program
- Item creation and maintenance
- Contribute to annual reprojections/budgets

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES / DUTIES

Analyzing and reconciling inventory listings & inventory transactions, Work in Process, cost of sales and related variances;
- Inventory roll forward / in-transit reconciliations
- Investigate unusual and pending transactions during month end close
- Investigate variances
- Preparation of obsolete & slow moving reserves and review with logistics supervisor
- Calculate labor and burden rates. Periodic analysis of freight and duties in inventory

Ensure accuracy of cost information in ERP system.
- Perform cost rolls for new items
- Review cost accuracy on a regular basis
- Assist Corporate Cost Accounting in Annual cost update process

Prepare accurate, timely and appropriate operational reports
- Inventory levels and turns
- Operating expenses
- Cost-to-Distribute report
- Prepare comments to various KPI’s and assist in the further development of financial and non-financial measurements to provide meaningful information to management
- Make recommendations for improvement

Follow up on demo&loan inventory
- Demo & loan levels
- Establish appropriate demo&loan reserve
- Review “old” items with appropriate staff
- Investigate scrap form demo&loan
- Provide accurate and relevant reporting to sales management
- Work together with sales management to ensure sell off at year end
- Review accuracy/completeness of inventory at Graco Training and Demo Centers abroad.
- Coordinate proper follow up of demo export transactions

Overseeing Cycle Count Program
- Assist in set up of cycle count program in Oracle
- Timely preparation of inventory accuracy measurement and analysis
- Evaluate effectiveness of the program.
- Recommend improvements and work together with the appropriate operating and IT staff to implement improvements

Item creation in ERP system. Add new items and review item setups on a regular basis. Make recommendations for improvement on this process and thoroughly test new setups.

Assists in the preparation of the annual plan and reprojections with respect to operating expenses and assembly. He/she works closely together with the various departments.

Become backup for other members within Reporting team

The Operations Accountant will report to the Reporting Manager.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Essential:

- Master degree in accounting / economics or equivalent
- 1-2 year experience in an audit or accounting environment
- Familiarity with Operations (inventory, std costing, cycle counts)
- Strong analytical skills
- IT-literate: excel, access, Cognos11, Power BI, Oracle or SAP Applications
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written
