As Manager Strategy you will support the Legal & Regulatory business in the further transformation from a mainly digital business to an expert solutions and software business. You will work in close collaboration with the VP Strategy L/R.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key responsibilities are:

- Support in building an aggregated strategy and capital allocation plan. Align strategy into portfolio of initiatives and roadmap for entire business, with focus on the legal markets
- Support the annual strategic planning process as a project, in close collaboration with the VP strategy LR, and EVP, Managing Director, the divisional CFO and business unit leaders
- Focus on identifying and driving growth initiatives based on market and business data. Scout and prioritize adjacent opportunities
- Support in establishing a consistent, repeatable process for building, tracking and reporting on strategy. Help creating objective factual views on various aspects of the LR division
- Support in managing cross-functional teams to execute strategic analyses, acquisition / divestment due diligence and other business-critical projects including scoping and planning, obtaining buy-in and providing final recommendation
- Work closely with country management, BU leaders, local management, segment/product experts and peers in the other Wolters Kluwer businesses.
- Drive governance and best-practices supporting strategy
- Develop and maintain a detailed working knowledge of customer needs and of the competitive landscape
- Drive the portfolio management process for the division and lead initiatives to assess and enter adjacent (segment/ product/ channel) markets, either organically or through acquisition.
- Support Mergers & Acquisitions and Business Development projects

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- Academic degree required, an additional MBA degree is a plus
- Strong experience in Project Management, 5+ years of experience in consulting and/or strategy roles and has been exposed to M&A.
- The ability to drive data-based decisions and repeatable processes throughout the organization (e.g., pricing, project delivery, project prioritization)
- Ideally worked in the technology industry, or has a strong affinity with technology
- Brings deep experience with business transformation, including change management, towards technology-based business models (digital/internet). Wolters Kluwer Legal & Regulatory is both a digital and traditional print business
- Combines a strategy background with experience in roles with business responsibility in a corporate environment, setting strategy (pragmatic - disruptive) and executing for results (reluctant - risk taking)
- The ability to create and articulate an inspiring vision for the organization and certain focus areas, translate strategy into execution
- Set clear and challenging goals while committing the organization to improved performance, tenacious and accountable in driving results
- Market and customer oriented, while considering corporate business and financial objectives
- Masters the English language and preferably also proficient in Dutch and/or French

This position requires a reasonable degree of travelling.
