**Position Summary**:
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Government and Regulatory Affairs team in Brussels as Head of Government Affairs / Aviation and Trade issues. You will be representing and defending FedEx's positions to the EU institutions. Reporting to the Managing Director Government and Regulatory Affairs, you will be in charge of setting up advocacy strategies and their implementations on aviation and trade issues.

**What you will be doing**:

- Assess the impact of legislative proposals affecting FedEx’s business in the region and develop public affairs responses in collaboration with internal FedEx departments.
- Policy advocacy with EU and national policy makers as well as non-EU stakeholders including the U.S. Mission to the EU.
- Broad scope of policy issues: sustainability, air transport, customs, trade and ecommerce.
- Represent FedEx in various trade associations (EEA but also national associations).
- Develop advocacy strategy on air transport and trade current legislative proposals (Noise, slots, RefuelEU, UCC )
- Develop advocacy strategy on aviation transport regulatory upcoming developments (Slots, END, EU ETS, CountEmissions EU, Green claims ) but also on trade issues (UCC, CBAM )
- Develop position papers, briefings, presentations related to air transport and trade issue in line with our global policy advocacy positions.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships and an effective network with decision makers, and other relevant stakeholders.

**What do you bring with you**:

- Minimum 10 years’ experience in public affairs in Brussels
- A thorough understanding of European policies and the workings of the EU institutions.
- Strong expertise (including past working experience) in EU transport & environmental policies, including but not limited to the following topics: combined transport, co-modality, urban mobility, transport emissions, alternative fuels and electrification, ETS.
- Excellent overall communication skills including writing, oral, and presentation skills.
- A proven track record in lobbying and/or advocacy vis à vis the EU institutions, either in a consultancy capacity company or as part of a trade association.
- Good organizational and project management skills.
- Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proactive approach.
- Ability to develop collaborative relationships based on trust and accountability with both internal and external stakeholders, to align interest and find common objectives.
- Fluency in English and at least one other EU language.
- Strong multitasking capabilities and ability to work under pressure.
- Feeling comfortable and excited to work in a multinational team.
