Our client is a big international company active in the logistics sector. They strive to engage, empower and reward their people, both onboard and ashore.
Roles & Responsibilities
**Tax Advice**
- Deliver tax advice in various territories of the Group to enable the group to manage its effective tax rate and be compliant with tax laws
- Give advice and report on (potential) tax exposures
- Assist and advise in various tax audits (international), tax litigations and due diligences
- Take up project leadership (tax), e.g. OECD Pillar II
- Understand profoundly foreign tax systems and jurisdictions & anticipate on changes
- (Pro-)active follow-up of developments of tax law in the broadest sense, which can be of interest to the group
- Present proposals and planning ideas considering potential future changes in tax law
- Maintain transfer pricing policies
- Develop / optimize policies and procedures regarding tax, such as compliance and reporting policies
**Tax compliance & tax rate monitoring**
- Manage, streamline & optimize tax compliance processes (both direct & indirect tax)
- Monitor the Group companies effective tax rate and actively manage tax exposures in order to ensure that taxes (book and tax casual) are minimized through proactive tax planning
**Knowledge management**
- Liaise with representatives of the business and other relevant functions (treasury, legal, internal control,) in order to increase and share tax knowledge within the Group
- Communicate to all levels of management across the Group, and provide advice within business objectives and strategy
- Maintain pro-actively regular contacts with external advisors, tax administrations, external auditors, etc.
**M&A advice**
- Provide advice on Merger & Acquisitions in order to optimize the Group and affiliates structuring process regarding corporate structuring (legal) and tax issues
- Advise on corporate, tax optimization, pre and post acquisition restructuring, due diligence, etc.
**Reporting and Informing**
- Prepare reports and provide formal information sessions to Management
- Conduct complex tax research and prepare data outlining findings and conclusions
- Manage specifics being a stock listed group (public reporting, dividend policy, withholding tax formalities, SOX compliance,)
**The requested qualifications for this job**:
- You have a master's degree;
- You have at least 10 years of experience;
- You have high networking skills;
- You have international expertise, knowledge of international shipping sector is a clear plus;
- Experience with stock listed aspects is an advantage;
- You are a great entrepreneur (you dare to challenge / quick in finding solutions);
- You have outstanding communication skills (highly commercial outlook and approach) with the ability to present at senior level and to influence at all levels;
- You are results focused and have a growth mindset;
- You are flexible and able to cope with pressure (stress tolerance);
- You have a customer-oriented attitude both internal and external;
