**Junior Accountant**

The junior accountant is responsible for providing support to the accounting/finance team and assist with the financial tasks. The primary goals of a junior accountant may include:

- Recording financial transactions accurately and timely
- Analyzing financial information and reporting on key performance indicators
- Reconciling accounts and ensuring accuracy of data
- Assisting with audits and ensuring compliance with regulations
- Assisting with the preparation of tax returns
- Communicating with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders
- Maintaining accurate financial records and files
- Providing support to the accounting team as needed
- Supporting the overall financial goals of the organization

**Responsibilities, tasks & results**:

- ** Assist in the monthly and yearly closing.**

**This includes, among others, the following tasks**:
OrangeCyberdefense Belgium closes its books on a monthly basis. Therefor a cut-off analysis on revenues and costs is performed each month. Examples of transactions on a monthly basis are:

- Salaries
- Inventory
- Depreciation
- Record deferred revenue
- Calculate and record interest and exchange rates
- Intercompany reconciliations
- Manage the balance sheet accounts
- VAT centralization
- Accrued charges

**Result**: The monthly report gives a true and fair view of the results of the company.
- ** Accounting tasks**
- **This includes, among others, the following tasks**:

- Process supplier invoices
- Prepare supplier payments on a weekly basis.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts with underlying details

**Result**: Accounting tasks are performed in a timely and correct manner.
- ** VAT declaration.**

**This includes, among others, the following tasks**:

- Assist in VAT return preparation activities to return filing
- Ensure timely payment of VAT to the tax authorities.
- Prepare and maintain reconciliation of the VAT general ledger accounts

**Result**: The obligations regarding VAT are fulfilled in time.
