ABOUT THE COMPANY
The company is a global immunology company committed to improving the lives of people suffering from severe autoimmune diseases and cancer. Partnering with leading academic researchers through its Immunology Innovation Program (IIP), the company aims to translate immunology breakthroughs into a world-class portfolio of novel antibody-based medicines.
The position will have amongst others the following key responsibilities:
- In close collaboration with your team members and the lab responsibles you will run the media kitchen or similar operational tasks such as organizing samples, labeling them accurately, and recording the results timely on the system
- Make all buffers and mixtures needed in the lab
- Cleaning and sterilizing glasswork for ensuring that all the laboratory tools and equipment are sterilized and well-maintained, avoiding possible contaminations that may affect the accuracy of deliverables
- Perform basic experimental work and assisting scientists and medical professionals in conducting basic experiments and laboratory examinations
- Co-responsible for material orders and follow up
- Co-responsible for equipment preparation and maintenance
- Taking initiative for innovation, communication and project support
REQUIRED COMPETENCES & SKILLS
- You love to work reliably, autonomously and accurately
- Strong sense for quality and proper housekeeping
- Taking ownership: you don’t mind to plan and execute a routine job without continuous supervision
- Preferrably former experience in working in lab environments
- Excellent team player
- Good communication skills in Dutch (both spoken and in written) and fair writing and speaking skills in English
- Experience with administrative tasks
- Good knowledge of office software (MSWord, MSExcel)
- Higher secondary technical degree or equivalent, by preference chemistry oriented
- You are based in Belgium, willing to work out of the Ghent office and are available to start on short notice
