We are looking for a **Small molecule Drug Substance Associate Project Leader **to join us in our Pharma Sciences organization (department of Chemical Process Research and Development) based in Braine-l’Alleud, Belgium.

**About the role**:
The Drug Substance (DS), Associate Project Leader is responsible for parts of one or more development project depending on project complexity and phase of development (from preclinical to commercial launch and life cycle management).

The DS Associate Project Leader leads tasks and activities on projects, coordinate parts of projects under the leadership of a Project Leader and depending on her/his experience may also occasionally back up the Project Leader.

**As an Associate Project Leader you will**:

- Be responsible for one or more development project parts depending on project complexity and phase of development (from preclinical to commercial launch and life cycle management).
- Support the Project Lead with the coordination of documentation retrieval, data retrieval, Data analysis, Data Integrity check, the writing of specific development sections, quality investigations, Source documentation...
- Co-develop integrated functional project strategies and plans for designated projects from early development to launch by identifying and consolidating project related work packages (internal and external) that are delivered through the different SMEs,
- Ensure appropriate documentation is available and retrievable,
- Integrate all aspects to ensure that SMEs workpackages (internal and external) are initiated, executed and delivered to meet project timelines, milestones and deliverables,
- Identify, communicate and manage risks associated with assigned project(s) and to develop appropriate mitigations;
- Closely collaborate with other project leaders, SMEs within PS, UCB community across functions and organizations to ensure delivery of cross-functional activities to quality and time.
- Support Project Leaders for risk management for assigned project(s) within the function ensuring all major risks are identified, reported, escalated, and adequately mitigated
- Ensure compliance with CPR&D governance processes
- Ensure proactive and timely stakeholder management
- Provide scientific leadership and project management for one or more assigned project(s) parts based on phase of development and complexity.
- Contribute to the coordination and review of relevant source documentation from technical function as required for filing/submission and actively support the registration processes.
- Act as key enabler for implementation of the Pharma Science Operating Model for assigned project(s).
- Contribute to project knowledge management.

**For this position you’ll need the following **education, experience** and **skills**:

- You have a master’s degree (a PHD PhD is an asset)
- You are fluent in English
- You have a Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in CMC Small molecule chemical process development
- You have a successful performance and track record working in matrix organization
