To reinforce our team, we are looking for a **Junior Researcher Microbiology**.

**Function**:
As **Junior Researcher Microbiology** you will be responsible for performing **microbiological and molecular analyses** as well as **plant trials**, and **reporting the obtained results**.

At your own pace, you will grow within a broader team into a more independent position, taking on projects from start to finish.
Your duties will then be as follows:

- **Developing and overseeing** trial designs
- Independently performing tests in the **lab**:

- **Statistical processing **of lab results
- Internal **reporting and presentation** of results
- Conducting **literature studies** on relevant topics

Currently, our research institute is located in Sint-Katelijne-Waver.
However, in 2026 we will move to a brand new site in Grobbendonk (Herentals Industry), which will become your permanent base from then on.

**Profile**:
Have you recently obtained your **Master's degree** or just completed your first work experience? And are you ready for a new challenge?

For our position of **Junior Researcher Microbiology** we are looking for someone who:

- Has a **Master's degree in Bioengineering, Industrial Engineering, Biology or Biochemistry**:

- Speaks and writes **English** very fluently
- Has a strong (theoretical) knowledge of **molecular biological and microbiological analysis** **techniques**:

- Has **good communication skills**:

- Is **very approachable**:

- Can **work independently** and enjoys taking on a complete project
- Functions well in a **team** with sufficient eye for consultation and cooperation
- Has strong **planning skills** and the ability to deal with unforeseen circumstances and changes
- Has a **positive attitude**
