**About the role**

The Manager of Media Relations and Reputation is responsible for developing and implementing a global, proactive media relations and stakeholder reputation strategy aimed at building awareness and trust to advance the Bekaert group’s reputation and brand value.

**Your Impact as Manager of Global Media Relations and Reputation**:

- You will develop and execute the company’s global media relations and thought leadership strategies to raise stakeholder awareness and Bekaert’s reputation.
- You will establish an international network of relevant contacts and manage interviews, press releases, statements, and other communications activities, measuring impact with clear metrics where possible.
- You will identify and support preparation for high impact speaking opportunities and will ensure the appropriate representation of Bekaert in internal and external forums, associations, and events.
- You will develop and execute the Group Crisis Communication strategy, including the establishment of appropriate protocols, planning tools, templates, and communication skills training to ensure timely advice and communication response at times of crisis.
- You will manage pertinent external supplier relationships (media agency, graphic design, etc.), overseeing the coordination of agreed deliverables and conducting regular reviews of agreed-upon KPIs.
- As a member of the Group Communications team, you will collaborate closely with our business communications colleagues, as well as investor relations, maintaining consistency of messaging throughout the company.
- You act as the media contact and Group spokesperson with the media.

**About You**

**Essential skills & competencies**:

- Solid professional experience of at least 8 years in media relations, crisis and issues communication and reputation management, combined with a bachelor’s or master’s degree.
- Strong relationship-building, able to gain respect and trust with all stakeholders. Experience of working closely with senior leadership.
- Strong strategic planning skills and business acumen.
- Mastery of communication, copywriting and storytelling; ability to write, edit and concisely articulate various types of strategic, complex, and sensitive communication, tailored for multiple communication channels.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty; resilient and capable of adapting nimbly, recommending scenarios, making sound decisions, executing precisely, and guiding others through complex situations.
- Flexibility to be available on short notice to meet needs that may arise outside of normal business hours.
- Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Dutch.
