Your Profile:
Electrical / Electronics Engineering background with affinity for electrified vehicle charging, common sense, dedication & a broad technical background/interest are as appreciated as deep specialist know-how.
- Good command of English language, both spoken & written as it is our internal standard in a very multi-cultural working environment. Any other languages are a plus but not strictly required.
- As you will be working in a tightly knitted team, you are foremost a team-player, enjoying to work in young & dynamic team.
- You are not afraid to take initiative and you can work independently as the backbone of the team.
- You have an analytic mind with a sense for both the technical as well as the business side of things. i.e. you are able to grasp the bigger picture beyond the pure technical aspects & facts. (Cost, sourcing, market direction, safety, standardisation, business risk,...)
- A good communicator, able to present complex messages in a concise & condensed way, easily understandable by non-specialists.

Your team and your responsibilities:
Vehicle Charging technology development is handled by a cross-departmental team within the Powertrain Division.
The team co-ordinates charging-related R&D activities in Advanced Technology research, Target Setting, Component Design & Evaluation departments.
Key tasks include:
- Market trend research w.r.t. vehicle charging technology & infrastructure.
- Performance target setting for future electrified vehicle platforms; charging mode, voltage, speed, power,....
- Eco-system research; V2X, grid balancing services, home energy management, DC home charging,....
- Component localisation; On-board charger, Charge cable, DC-DC converter,....
- Component & system compatibility evaluation (DC charger/EVSE vs. vehicle).
**We can only accept students with an EEA or Swiss citizenship (not requiring a work permit or visa to be eligible to perform an internship in Belgium)
