**Marine Operations Stowage Planner - **Antwerp

For our client, a stable international shipping company we are looking for a Marine Operations
Stowage Planner for their office in the center of Antwerp.

**What are you going to do ?**

In this role you supervise the marine operations for the shipping company by preparing the vessel stowage, overseeing vessel operations and ensuring the safe and efficient utilization and optimization of vessels.

He of She:

- Monitors and prepares the pre-stowage plan for the vessels adhering to all regulations and vessel requirements.
- Analyzes stowage specifications and vessel capacity data and performs required calculations/stowage configuration to determine appropriate container loading and placement to maximize container capacity.
- Ensures vessels stability by reviewing vessels’ ballast using FSC for unpumpable ballast.
- Monitors bunker consumption to ensure vessels follow speed required to make the estimated time of arrival.
- Plots vessels routes on weather routing software to ensure vessels are following the most reasonable route depending upon weather conditions and regulations including ECA, right whales, and emission from ships. Advises the vessel captains if necessary.
- Monitors vessel performance by communicating with Ports and reviewing stevedore damage reports.
- Actualizes hazardous information on the company’s software and ensures hazardous cargo is properly allocated on vessel.
- Prepares and updates the company’s prohibited list and stays current on IMDG changes.
- Prepares Marine Operations reports including the daily review of vessel routes, speeds and fuel consumption, incident reports, and Vessel Fleet Details.
- Evaluates performance of Masters and Chief Engineers.
- Abides by all international laws and maritime regulations, internal guidelines and safety of vessel, crews and cargo on board.

**Who are we looking for ?**
- You have four year college education in Maritime or equivalent work experience and at least five years of experience with vessel stowage.
- Communicates effectively and appropriately. Speaks and writes in a clear and credible manner. Actively listens to others. Ability to present information to the Captain, terminal staff, and employees in an effective, concise and professional manner.
- Computer/Software knowledge. Ability to gain proficiency on Stowage Planning Software and systems provided by the company.
- Strong Technical and Critical Thinking skills. Ability to use data, logic and reasoning to evaluate vessel efficiencies.
- Excellent crisis management skills. Works well under pressure, able to act quickly and decisively using sound judgement. Thrives in a dynamic environment. Adheres to tight deadlines.
- Detail-oriented. Must possess keenness to prepare vessel planning/space calculations.
- Positive attitude.
- Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
- Willing to abide by all company policies and act in accordance with company values.
- Ability to handle stress appropriately and interact well with others.
