**Introduction**:
**Job description**:

- Search, evaluate and integrate various data analysis tools to identify or categorize têxtile and polymer-relevant molecules andtheir degradation products in complex sample matrices.
- Conduct research aimed at determining the cytotoxicity of the identified compounds and correlating the olfactorycharacteristics of a sample with the chromatographic data.
- Contribute to all aspects of the experimental pipeline (excluding instrument maintenance & operation), including process samples, design experiments, analyse data, interpret experimental results, and summarise data for presentations and reports

**Profiel**:
**Skills & experience**
- Master or PhD in (Bio or Analytical) chemistry, Bioinformatics or other relevant scientific field
- Expertise in small molecules and/or protein-based omics pipelines (metabolomics, lipidomics, proteomics...)
- Proficiency in working with and building spectral libraries Experience in the use of identification & annotation methods for LC & GC MS data
- Ability to assess the statistical validity of the generated results

**Optional skills & experience**
- Experience in evaluating the cytotoxicity of identified components based on existing data or through homology with structurally similar molecules
- Ability to link chromatographic data to the olfactory properties of a sample
- Ability to use AI-based techniques to identify correlations in analytical data, particularly for the identification of compounds or the determination of olfactory or cytotoxic characteristics of a sample
