StatUa is a core facility of the University of Antwerp since 2009, with the mission to facilitate scientific research at the University of Antwerp through statistical support to its researchers. Interdisciplinary interactions between researchers and StatUa members have led to many successful research projects across different domains. StatUa’s consultancy services transcend specific faculties and aim to provide state-of-the-art support in statistics, data science and qualitative research methods. Next to statistical support to UA researchers, StatUa also offers services to external partners in the private sector. On top of that, StatUa organises doctoral school courses for doctoral students together with the Antwerp Doctoral School and within the context of the Flanders’ training network for methodology and statistics (FLAMES).

StatUa is looking for a full-time (100%) **visiting tutor in the field of **Statistics**

**Position**
- Together with other members of the StatUa executive and steering committees, you will shape the future of the StatUa core facility.
- You will be responsible for coordinating the statistical consultancy unit.
- You will be responsible for statistical consultancy services and support of researchers at the University of Antwerp, and you will engage in interdisciplinary research through active participation in research projects.
- You will closely interact with researchers to facilitate collaboration and to provide state-of-the-art advice regarding statistics and methodology.
- You will reach out to researchers with specific expertise within the University of Antwerp and coordinate the functioning of StatUa as a core facility.
- You will join a dynamic team of experts in statistics dedicated to the methodological training of young scientists. Next to consultancy tasks, you will contribute to the development of training materials, provide training sessions at the different universities in Flanders, maintain a website designed to offer up-to-date information on available courses and StatUa activities, and coordinate demand and supply.

**Profile**
- You hold a master degree in statistics, statistical data analysis, biostatistics, econometrics or an equivalent degree.
- A PhD in statistics (or related field such as econometrics,...) and experience in statistical consultancy and support are considered a plus for this position.
- You act with attention to quality, integrity, creativity and cooperation.
- You are an experienced user of statistical software (such as SAS, JMP, SPSS, Stata, Matlab, Python, R or other statistical software).
- You are interested in and have the ability to engage in the different challenges attached to statistical consultancy, including interactions with external clients and researchers at the University of Antwerp, translation of research aims into research questions, data analysis, data visualisation and communication of key findings and results.
- Creative and enthusiastic statistician with a keen interest in supporting pre
- and postdoctoral researchers from a statistical point of view.
- You are able to work in an international and multidisciplinary team.
- Relevant experience in statistical consultancy is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal and reporting skills.
- Fluency in English, verbal and written.
- Leadership and organizational skills.

**What we offer**
- We offer a full-time appointment for a period of one year, renewable after positive evaluation for a period of two years. Given the structural funding for StatUa as a core facility, the appointment can be extended thereafter.
- Your gross monthly salary is calculated according to the pay scale for a principal research fellow in the Contract Research Staff category (Dutch: _Bijzonder Academisch Personeel_, BAP). If you work part time, your salary is calculated proportionally on the basis of your employment percentage.
