To further strengthen their international Financial & Administration department in Europe, we are currently recruiting a Senior Accountant
**Job description**:
As part of the Financial & Administration department, you will organize the financial control activities, perform general accounting tasks such as financial analysis and reporting, cost controlling, budgeting and forecasting. You will contribute to a cost-effective and efficient business administration, taking into account all legal and regulatory requirements in the EMEA region.
- You will act as the key contact for internal stakeholders and insurance companies to manage and optimize customer credit insurance policies.
- You ensure timely submission of VAT reporting, including VAT returns, ECL-reporting, Intrastat, for 6 active VAT numbers and 3 legal entities.
- You will take charge of the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, closely monitoring the closing calendar to ensure timely completion.
- You will contribute to the preparation of group reporting by providing correct and comprehensive financial data.
- You prepare and oversee the allocation of indirect costs, ensuring accurate and efficient cost tracking.
- You will look for and implement best practices regarding new reporting processes and you will optimize financial and operational reporting tools, dashboards and KPIs.
- You will play a coordinating role over the accountants and senior accountant, ensuring smooth collaboration within the accounting team.
- You will collaborate with different (internal) stakeholders & departments and develop partnerships to drive performance that aligns to organizational goals and strategies.
- You will prepare and participate in both statutory and group audits, providing support and accurate financial documentation.
- You will report directly to the Chief of Accounting.
**Profile**:
- You obtained a higher degree in Finance or Business Administration.
- You gained a solid international working experience of min. 5 years as an Accountant or Senior Accountant within a distribution or production environment.
- You have analytical skills to drive data based decision taking and have a solid understanding of financial concepts.
- You work accurately and maintain a structured approach, are able to prioritize and deal with tight and continuous deadlines.
- You are empathic, mature and correct. You are stress-resistant and are able to work independently.
- You have strong social skills and are open to other cultural mindsets, experience with the Japanese culture is a plus.
- You are a team player and excellent relationship builder, able to secure buy-in from both internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience with SOX or JSOX would be considered an asset.
- You have experience with working in ERP-software. Experience in SAP would be considered a big asset.
- You are fluent in English and Dutch, speaking French would be considered an asset.
- You will work in SCE’s HQ in Machelen, combined with a flexible homeworking policy.
