The University of Antwerp’s Faculty of Pharmaceutical, Biomedical and Veterinary Sciences, Department of Biomedical Sciences, Peripheral Neuropathy research group, is looking for a full-time or part-time **specialist staff member - **iPSC researcher/business developer**.

**Position**

The position includes the following tasks:

- You organise activities in the induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) domain and are responsible for the preparation, follow-up and execution of administrative, logístical and/or technical processes that are part of the internal operations of the Faculty/Department of the Peripheral Neuropathy research group. You are responsible for monitoring and steering administrative, logístical and/or technical processes and for carrying out inspections with the aim of further improving results according to applicable standards and the needs of customers:

- State-of-the-art research developing and optimizing the 2D & 3D iPSC SCREEN4PN platform.
- Present SCREEN4PN to stakeholders in industry and academia.
- Attract and close new research and service contracts with pharma & biotech companies and academic partners.
- Optimize current read-outs, identify and develop new readouts.
- Develop iPSC lines and organoids for neurodegenerative and neuromuscular disorders.
- You are responsible for analysing, evaluating and supporting policy and/or policy implementation based on your specific expertise in:

- Establishing and maintenance of iPSC cultures, microscopy and bioinformatics.
- GLP and SOP.
- You coordinate the work of several staff members in consultation with the supervisor:

- Directing day-to-day business operations and communication of SCREEN4PN.
- Work with the UAntwerp valorization team to prepare create a spin-off company based on the SCREEN4PN platform.
- In your role, you take instructions and regulations into account with a view to achieving predefined objectives.

**Profile**
- You must hold an academic master or PhD degree recognized by the EU in one of these disciplines: biochemistry, biology, bioengineering, biomedical or pharmaceutical sciences.
- An MBA or similar experience in the nexus between academia and industry is an asset.
- You are proficient in MS Office.
- You have good oral and written knowledge of English, Dutch.
- You act with attention to quality, integrity, creativity and cooperation.
- You have strong skills in planning and organisation.

**What we offer**
- We offer a temporary contract for a period of 1 year (with the possibility of renewal, evaluation after 6 months).
- You will receive a gross monthly salary within pay band 5.1-7.1 of the pay scales of the Administrative and Technical Staff. Your entry-level grade depends on your relevant professional experience. If you work part time, your salary is calculated proportionally on the basis of your employment percentage.
- You will receive meal vouchers, ecocheques, Internet-connectivity allowance, and a bicycle allowance or a full reimbursement of public transport costs for commuting.
- We offer flexible working hours.
- You will have 40 days of annual leave and collective leave for 1 week when the university is closed, between Christmas and New Year.
- You will do most of your work at Campus Drie Eiken in a dynamic and stimulating working environment.
