**Mission**:
This role reports directly to the Chief Operations Officer and works closely with operational management teams across the different countries and departments. The Director Safety, Health & Compliance is responsible for aligning quality, safety, compliance and process improvement strategies with a) the organization's overarching goals, set by the ELT and b) the directives from all relevant safety instances and to ensure these are implemented effectively across the organization ensuring the strategic objectives are realized.
Concretely, you are responsible to
- translate strategic goals related to quality, safety and compliance into actionable policies and oversee their implementation in Lineas’ (operational) processes.
- drive the standardization, centralization, and documentation of operational knowledge, processes, and data.
- ensure the establishment and monitoring of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
- promote continuous improvement initiatives across processes and systems to achieve operational excellence.
- lead risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, laws, and regulations.
**Tasks**:
Quality and Safety Management:
- Develop and implement quality and safety objectives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with relevant standards & regulations. Assure close follow-up on the relevant legislation and assure necessary actions are taken to implement accordingly.
- Translate objectives, in consultation with the management, into related action plans, ensure implementation in the different countries through allocation of necessary resources (budget & manpower), timings of implementation & indicators and close follow-up of achievement. Escalate to the COO and respective Country Manager when needed.
- Develop and maintain a system to monitor and report on the KPIs regarding quality and safety. Monitor their use and correct accordingly.
- Ensure development and
- Prepare and lead accreditation and (pre-) audit processes (internal and external) for both quality & safety. Ensure follow-ups on corrective and preventive measures. Report on the status towards management and relevant authorities.
- Cultivate a culture of safety and quality awareness through training and effective communication. Ensure that it is clear what is expected of employees in this regard. Promote and monitor the continuous improvement of quality systems, safety systems and processes. In this scope, prepare and organize the half-yearly management review.
- Conduct timely risk analyses, report on them, and propose (and defend them to ensure implementation) improvements to mitigate identified risks.
Process and Continuous improvement:
- Define and provide a standardized methodology and structure to document (operational) processes and technical expertise. Assure that this methodology and structure is translated into trainings and info sessions.
- Assure all (operational) processes are defined and centrally documented according to the standardized methodologies.
- Ensure that updated procedures are well-documented and accessible.
- Supervise the translation of corporate processes into standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and oversee the validation and deployment process.
- Drive data-driven decision-making by creating and analyzing operational performance metrics. Use the gathered (data) insights to drive continuous improvement initiatives in order to increase the overall performance of operational processes.
- Conduct root cause analyses and statistical evaluations to address process inefficiencies.
- Supervise the translation of operational insights into actionable improvements and technical innovations.
- Collaborate with IT and other business units to automate and improve processes using advanced tools (e.g., Tableau, Lineas Integrated Management System).
Leadership:
- Organise the SHC department, in consultation with the hierarchical manager. Recruite, lead, inspire, and develop a team of experts, including Operations Architects, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Master Data Specialists, and Application Owners.
- Build networks across departments to foster knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- Manage budgets, resources, and timelines for safety, process and quality improvement initiatives.

- Strong operational background with expertise in safety & quality systems. Specific expertise in regulations and methods such as ISO, 6 sigma,
- Business Process Management
- Prevention advisor level 1. Applications without this certification will not be considered
- MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
- Master degree, preference in Supply Chain, (Business) Engineering, Applied Economics, or related fields.
- Minimum of 15 years in asset maintenance and/or supply chain management roles, preferably within an international context.
