The senior payroll specialist is part of Baxter’s HR Operations department based in Lessines Manufacturing Belgium. The Jobholder is responsible for payroll end-to-end processing, ensuring accurate data (HRIS payroll records), compliance with policies, procedures and federal, regional, local regulations (including multi-sectors joint Committees and Collectives Labour Agreements).

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Demonstrate continuous effort to improve department operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work collaboratively to provide internal quality service.
- Handle payroll cycles for blue-collar/white-collar in close relation with external payroll vendor as well as managing benefits in kind transactions (e.g. gift vouchers, insurances,) and payroll deductions.
- Act as contact person to improve the communication and service of the department. Find opportunities and develop solutions that meet business demands.
- Prepare relevant management reports, including - as relevant - weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports.
- Keep track of developments (up-to-date country standards) and provide guidance on payroll-related legislation and changes, when appropriate upskill team members through micro-training and documentation.
- Maintain Propose adjustments or new initiatives according to changes in tax and social legislation.
- Act as center of expertise in certain areas for the Payroll/Compensation & Benefits and contribute to the implementation of the team's projects.
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners to ensure seamless payrolling operations.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree with minimum 5 years of experience in payroll processes, preferably in a multinational and multi-cultural organization.
- Solid knowledge of Belgian payroll regulations, tax laws and Employees relations in unionized organization.
- Problem-solving professional with a collaborative approach to finding solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Fluency in French, English and Dutch
- Willingness to provide excellent service without losing sight of priorities
- Knowledge of Protime and Eblox is a key asset
