Based in Brussels, Friends of Europe is an independent think tank that aims to connect people, stimulate debate and trigger change for a more inclusive, sustainable and forward-looking Europe. The insightful and timely publications and animated debates provide access to sharp analysis and produce bold recommendations.
Friends of Europe is committed to playing its part in defining a new social contract for Europe. They promote the confrontation of ideas between established leaders and citizens, between young and old, experts and laymen, left and right of the political spectrum, and between people from various walks of life and convictions." Friends of Europe believes in social justice and equality and work with stakeholders across Europe, and the world, to craft bold and innovative recommendations to revitalize the European Project. Friends of Europe believes that good ideas and good policies come from breaking down silos and building communities of trust between policymakers, business leaders, civil society representatives, and citizens. As part of the further development of Friends of Europe as an authoritative and innovative think tank for EU policy analysis and debate, with Friends of Europe equally a co-founder of the Africa-Europe Foundation and of TownHall Europe (the Davignon Centre for New Leadership), we are seeking a Managing Director to take responsibility for the vision and strategic leadership of the organisation, to oversee their talented and committed team, and represent Friends of Europe among a range of members and stakeholders. Working with the Governing Board and the Leadership Team, the Managing Director will help keep Friends of Europe on the map as a high-profile and high-quality think tank not operating in an ivory tower, but with great outreach to wider audiences. The Managing Director will take on the day-to-day responsibilities of Friends of Europe’s talented staff, budgets, partnerships and overall direction.
The role will be based in Brussels, Belgium. The salary is competitive and commensurate with the experience required.
