As a VAT accountant you will be member of the VAT & Intrastat team which is part of the Finance Operations Center of Excellence.
- You will perform accounting and financial activities in the VAT & Intrastat area to improve the efficiency of services provided to Europe and EMA Countries.
- Discuss process improvements with Team Leader, implement and follow-up on actions to improve internal controls and ensure adherence to policies & procedures.

**Main responsibilities will include**:

- The execution of the financial services assigned to the VAT & Intrastat team, to guarantee the quality, efficiency, effectiveness, and on-time completion of the various tasks and process steps.
- Assure correctness, on-time delivery, and sign-off on VAT & Intrastat operations.
- Internal and External reporting conform to local legal requirements.
- Specific month-end activities.
- Ensure internal & SOX controls are followed in order to guarantee the completeness, correctness, and security of key financial data and accounting transactions. Follow up on action plans, resulting from audits and/or SOX test results.
- Discuss with the General Accounting Team Leader possible improvement, standardization opportunities and execute the agreed-upon process changes within your own area, in order to support a continuous increase in the efficiency of VAT & Intrastat processes.
- Ensure SLA’s commitments are followed in order to support both Fin Ops COE and local entities in achieving the objectives of the SLA’s. Contribute directly to the following metrics for VAT & Intrastate.
- Timeliness declarations and payments and correctness of declarations.
- Participate in projects to support the implementation of process improvements within your area of responsibility.

**About you**
- You have a bachelor's degree in Accountancy and an affinity with VAT
- You are proficient in English; each additional European language is a plus.
- You love to work very organized and consider yourself an excellent planner
- You have good Excel skills and a problem-solving attitude.
- Knowledge of SAP is a strong plus

Als BTW-accountant maak je deel uit van het BTW & Intrastat-team dat deel uitmaakt van het Finance Operations Center of Excellence.
Je voert boekhoudkundige en financiële activiteiten uit op het gebied van BTW en Intrastat om de efficiëntie van de dienstverlening aan Europa en EMA-landen te verbeteren.
Bespreek procesverbeteringen met de teamleider, implementeer en volg acties op om de interne controles te verbeteren en de naleving van beleid en procedures te garanderen.
De belangrijkste verantwoordelijkheden zullen zijn:
Het uitvoeren van de financiële diensten die zijn toevertrouwd aan het VAT & Intrastat-team, om de kwaliteit, efficiëntie, effectiviteit en tijdige afronding van de verschillende taken en processtappen te garanderen.
Zorg voor correctheid, tijdige levering en aftekening van BTW- en Intrastat-activiteiten.
Interne en externe rapportage voldoen aan de lokale wettelijke vereisten.
Specifieke activiteiten aan het einde van de maand.
Zorg ervoor dat interne en SOX-controles worden gevolgd om de volledigheid, juistheid en veiligheid van belangrijke financiële gegevens en boekhoudkundige transacties te garanderen. Opvolgen van actieplannen, voortkomend uit audits en/of SOX-testresultaten.
Bespreek met de teamleider General Accounting mogelijke verbeter-, standaardisatiemogelijkheden en voer de afgesproken proceswijzigingen binnen uw eigen werkgebied uit, ter ondersteuning van een continue verhoging van de efficiëntie van BTW & Intrastat-processen.
Zorg ervoor dat de verplichtingen van de SLA worden nageleefd om zowel Fin Ops COE als lokale entiteiten te ondersteunen bij het bereiken van de doelstellingen van de SLA's. Draag rechtstreeks bij aan de volgende statistieken voor BTW en intrastatelijk.
Tijdigheid aangiften en betalingen en juistheid van aangiften.
Je neemt deel aan projecten ter ondersteuning van de implementatie van procesverbeteringen binnen jouw verantwoordelijkheidsgebied.
Over jou
Je hebt een bachelordiploma Accountancy en affiniteit met BTW
Je beheerst de Engelse taal; elke extra Europese taal is een pluspunt.
Je houdt ervan om zeer georganiseerd te werken en beschouwt jezelf als een uitstekende planner
Je beschikt over goede Excel-vaardigheden en een probleemoplossende instelling.
