About Our Client
Our client is a world leader in the transport and distribution sector, with brand-new offices in the north of Brussels (Vilvoorde).

Job Description

1. Management of a team of 4 employees (GL & Financial Controllers)
2. Supervision of GL Accounting: validation of the accuracy of financial transactions + periodic reconciliations and intercompany transactions
3. Responsibility for monthly and yearly closings (in coordination with AP and AR teams)
4. Key point of contact with external and internal auditors, as well as with the Board (Accounting Key Partner)
5. Financial Reporting: preparation of financial reports (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements)
6. Process improvement: identification and implementation of process improvements and automation in GL accounting & Controlling

The Successful Applicant

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (a Master's degree in Finance and/or certification (CPA, CMA, etc.) would be an asset)
2. Fluent in English with an excellent level of French and/or Dutch
3. At least 10 years' experience as a Senior Accountant/GL/Financial Controller in BEGAAP
4. At least 4 years' experience as Manager of a Financial Controlling/GL team
5. First experience in an international group and/or in the transport sector is an asset
6. Excellent team management skills
7. Excellent ability to analyze, interpret and communicate financial data
8. Strong interest in improving and automating accounting processes
