This individual will report directly to the Insurance Manager. The Insurance team is composed of three members: the Insurance Claims Expert, the Insurance Manager, and the Tax and Insurance Director. Beschrijving van de functie The Insurance Expert will be responsible for arranging and maintaining insurance protection for bpost's assets and liabilities at both national and international levels. This role encompasses both insurance policies management and claims handling with the insurance companies and brokers, as well as support to the business as part of the negotiation of the contractual liability obligations. Key Responsibilities: Insurance policy management - Policy Review and Compliance: Review data to assess the performance and effectiveness of insurance policies. Ensure policies meet legal requirements and comply with national and international laws. - Procurement Collaboration: Work closely with the procurement department on renewing partnerships with external vendors, ensuring compliance with public tendering requirements. - Vendor Relationships: Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, including brokers and insurance companies. Evaluate their performance to ensure a balanced fee/insurance coverage ratio. Business partnering - Business Partner Relations: Build strong business partner relationships with operational entities, acting as a trusted advisor to develop ¿insurance solutions¿ that support commercial contracts, such as protection against product damage and timely delivery. - Develop and Manage Insurance Provisions: Oversee the development, performance, governance, and administration of insurance provisions for the bpost Group to ensure efficient service delivery, maximizing efficiency, performance, and value in compliance with legislation. - Legislative Monitoring: Monitor legislative changes at both national and international levels. - Prevention : Follow-up of prevention measures and Business continuity plans in collaboration with the Risk department. Claims Management - Major claims handling: Handle major claim declarations, contacting involved parties, compiling files, organizing and conducting expert examinations, determining causes and liabilities, and providing accurate and fair loss estimates. The day-to-day claim handling of the Belgian activities is handled by the Insurance claims expert. Jouw profiel We do not only deliver letters and parcels, but also opportunities. This job is open to all with diverse backgrounds and talents, possessing the following skills: - Proficiency in Dutch, French, and English (both oral and written). - Master's degree in Law, with a Post-University degree in Insurance Management. - A minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience in insurance management. - Strong technical insurance background combined with well-developed stakeholder management skills. Stakeholders include internal operational departments at national and international levels, insurance brokers, and insurance companies. - Excellent communicator who listens actively and can engage with a broad variety of stakeholders. - Willingness to take responsibility and ownership of tasks and decisions.
