Job Description

For future large construction projects at BESIX we are looking for experienced Project Directors.

To reinforce our teams in Europe & Africa BESIX is searching forProject Directorswith a relevant work experience abroad as a Project Director on projects above €150 millionand who want to build a long-term career at one of the most innovative and multidisciplinary companies with a leading position in its markets: construction, property development and concessions.

The purpose of this position is to perform the essential construction management job duties and functions as listed belowwith the overall objective of establishing a construction execution framework on the project(s) and ensuring the safety, quality, value, timeliness, and BESIX profitability of the assigned project(s).The Project Director works also closely with General Managementand Business Development to target and pre-position for opportunities in a region or country.

Duties and responsibilities:

- You will supervise, coordinate towards successful completion of your project in accordance with client requirements, organizational policies/procedures, contract, time and cost specifications;
- You will coordinate (with Procurement Team) all third parties, negotiate with contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors throughout all stages in the development of the project life cycle, participate and handle tenders and contracts;
- Participates in preparation and negotiation of contracts and ensures delivery and adherence to contractual requirements and that all aspects of contracts are accomplished
- You validate contractual options, whether technical, financial or time-related;
- You take care of the contractual and financial follow-up and budget control;
- You engage yourself in social contacts and public relations to the benefit of the Company;
- You will implement project budgets and resources, enforce project standards, technical reviews, manage team allocation, mobilize qualified personnel and specified tasks and prepare monthly progress reports.
- You actively participatein the business community and builds relationships within the industry to generate and enhance business opportunities
- You proactively managethe training and professional development of project employees
- You possess in-depth practical and theoretical knowledge to deal with situations in a background of conceptual understanding
- You are an experienced people and team manager. You seek consensus and are a good listener
- You have an advanced understanding of contract management
- You have a deep knowledge of technical complex domains and have a very good knowledge of site organization
- You have the ability to assess issues rapidly, develop alternative solutions, implement pragmatic strategies
- You are an excellent communicator both to internal and external parties
- You are able to negotiate at high level and in complex environments
- You are professional, entrepreneurial and result-oriented
- You have a high degree of flexibility and adaptability
- You are commercially gifted

Qualifications

- You have an academic degree in Engineering (construction or architecture);
- You have proven a track record with a least 15 years of relevant working experience within a major construction company, having managed large complex construction projects (> 150million €) in buildings orcivil or marine & infrastructure works;
- You possess in-depth practical and theoretical knowledge to deal with situations in a background of conceptual understanding;
- You have gained excellent experience in claim handling and contract management (FIDIC);
- You are fluent in English, plusany other European language, French or Dutch is anasset;

You are preferably willing to work and live abroad. You are flexible in terms of working area. Please indicate in your motivation letter in which area you would preferably work.
